In about seven years when he retires with three or four pinwheel-adorned World Championship rings. And that red flag will be raised to the rafters in the Rose Garden.

Derrick had two wrist injuries, a neck injury, toe, back, groin, ankle and another toe injury prior to tearing his ACL. (While none of them were deemed major, he missed half the season. I'd say that's major in accumulation...similar to Stephen A smith's thoughts on Andrew Bogut and his health situation.)

In addition, I'd say that none of us know whether those injuries he played through affected him tearing his ACL and we do not know if he wouldve landed awkwardly in the first quarter of the next game and done the same thing.

I get the feeling that Derrick knows that it is related to his toe, foot, ankle issues in which he over compensated or was hesitant and that's why he kept saying he has to be 100% to return.

Furthermore, if Derrick was allowed to play thru those injuries and Thibs was told he was good to go, that's on the (if you look aroune, pretty questionable reputation) Chicago med staff.

    Not. Swayed.

As an internet orthopedic surgeon, I can tell you none of those injuries you mentioned (wrist, neck, toe, back, groin, ankle and toe again) contributed to him tearing his ACL. Whether were he to injure his knee in the next game is irrelevant. He injured it in garbage time where he shouldn't have played. Thibs has a history of doing this and it basically ruined an MVP's career.

Rose needed the minutes to play himself into shape.

I think Thibs is a top 3 coach in the league. I also think the Bulls are fucking retards for firing him

And I can tell you, he missed 30 games before his ACL in a lockout shortened season. he already had injury issues NOT caused by thibs. Of course Oden wrist didn't lead to his ACL just like Rose's didnt, but his body clearly was injured a lot before his knee issues as well. And I'd argue foot, toe, and ankle issues could cause knee problems for one.

If I were Thibs I would take a year off, work in the media where he can watch a lot of games up close and get paid, figure out how he needs to adjust his coaching style, learn from his mistakes, and come back better like Carlisle did.

I agree. Let Stotts know he's got a year...

This would be ideal, from my POV. It'd give us time to properly fire Stotts - I just don't see us firing him this summer. But after another season where we falter half-way through I think the writing will be on the wall and everyone will be on-board with a coaching change.

From what I've read, Thibs wants to coach in a major city. So think LA or NY. Maybe Boston.

Seems he's not interested in one of the 3 open jobs.

I could see both LA and NY going for it.

Seriously? This is hard to believe. Sounds like this came from someone in a "major city" and not from Thibs. If the guy works 20 hours a day as reported, why would he care where he lives.

The same "sources" that "talk" to Vescey and Canzano.

The little voice in my head.

How many times has Peter Vecsey over the years been accused of making up sources? Way too many times. He may not be interested in New Orleans, but did he ever say it was because he wanted to work in a major city? That sounds like something a columnist from New York or LA would write. Vecey is the worst of the worst. At least that is what my source tells me. (Charles Barkley)
