It's official: Wednesday will be Tanaka time at Safeco field. Masahiro Tanaka will make his long awaited return to the mound against the Mariners throwing 80-85 pitches in his first big league start since April 23rd. Slade Heathcott, The impressive start to his career has been put on hold after an MRI revealed a grade 2 strain of his right quad & is expected to be out for up to a month. With the recent injury to Slade Heathcott the Yankees have called up outfielder Ramon Flores. Flores was hitting 294/.389/.425 with 4 HRs & 15 RBI. Girardi could opt to move Brett Gardner to CF since Flores is primarily a left fielder. Flores will likely split time with Chris Young. For anyone expecting to see Aaron Judge, the top prospects name didn't even come up when the team was exploring there options since Judge is a right fielder.
...same old shit with Heathcott...the guy just cannot stay on the field long enough to earn a permanent spot. ...and evidently, the Yanx don't feel Jones is a viable option in RF.
Yep, agree....kid does have talent is a fiesty speedy line-drive type hitter who can go get the ball......he has difficulty staying on the field. I guess Flores is next on their depth chart.
Like the News & Notes! Feel bad for Heathcott. He finally gets a shot and this happens. The guy just can't stay healthy…sad. BTW, has Ellsbury even started any activity? Ugh, that injury is magnified daily. Hoping Tanaka can hold up and Nova isn't far off. Let's get some competition for starts int his rotation.
