Dude I am pro Aldridge staying. I think it's detrimental to sign him and bring the same band for a finals push.

I'm just stating the obvious fact that any team in this league would want Aldridge. He's probably the best PF in the game right now.

Anthony Davis is far and away the best PF going into 2015-16

That's arguable. The head to head match up was not even close. Aldridge put Anthony in his place. But whatever... Let's say 2nd best for arguments sake... Still highly wanted throughout the league

IF the rumor report reasons are true…..and that granted is a big ifbut if LA doesn’t want to be here because he thinks we can’t win here…..and is willing to give up 30+ million to get out of town.. oh boy then F him.. And dont give me that he gave us 9 years. He only did that because we had his rights, he basically had no choice. In fact if it was his choice he would have got his wish couple years ago when he wanted to be traded. This guy is super super super wishy washy with this city and fans, IDK what his deal with us is. This is why I say I WISH WE TRADED HIM THIS DEADLINE hes going to screw us bad come July 1st I can just feel it..

that's the thing though, LMA was shooting over 40% from 3 until he hurt his thumb, and that accounts for all the 3s he ends with at the shot clock buzzer. The TS% stat is flawed beside because a defense is more willing to give up a 3 than a 5 foot shot. Yes it creates more points per shot (3 to 2), but it doesn't mean that player is a better offensive player. And it doesnt create the huge difference in efficiency you claim.

Come July 1st the Blazers have no leverage though. Aldridge holds all the cards. He's got a Royal flush on Neil & Paul.

thing is if he leaves it gives us tons of cap space to sign one or two young up and coming players (Khris Middleton, KJ McDaniels, Greg Monroe). We then could trade Batum and our pick to create cap space to sign another young player (Tobias Harris??) And then draft a Justice Winslow or Stanley Johnson.

To start a "rebuild" around a core of Lillard, McCollum, McDaniels, Harris. Leonard, and Johnson would be great. It allows Lillard to become the alphadog, and then wed have tons of cap space next year to add more young, developing to this core.

So while Aldridge has leverage, it's not like we don't have options. I trust NO's "contingency" plans without Aldridge. Hell this road might make us bigger contenders 3-4 years from now then we could ever be now. That's why I'm not trippin about LA leaving.

Middleton is restricted he'll be matched EASILY, KJ McDaniels? come on hes nothing special, Greg Monroe is a possibility but if NY wants him hes going to go there no doubt.. We should have traded LMA he really screwed us. I wish he would have warned us.

Middleton is a weird situation. They have Jabari, Giannis, Dudley on the wrongs already. It might be better for them to sign a cheaper option, and use the money saved to go after a legit center. KJ McDaniels is nothing special? A 22 year old lock down defender who moved great without the ball, is an insane athletic, and had a decent stroke and potential to become a decent 3 PT shooter, that's not someone you'd wanna build around?

These guys were just examples, the bigger picture is that if he leaves we have tons of cap space to add young players and assets like Batum to trade for a top 10 draft pick. We won't be screwed, we'll be able to put together a great young core to build around.

Signs were there all along and don't think it wasn't visible to this GM. He prob always knew this was a possibility and elected to go the direction he is going.

    The way of cap space

If your right, This will be Olshey's first big mistake! It will rank right up there with KP not trading LeFrentz at the deadline which I'm sure pissed Paul off!

Um... KP had more than one deal set up and proposed to PA, and PA rejected all of them in order to gain the cash benefit of RLEC himself.

Link please....I'm sure no one knows those "Deals" KP had set in place but I'm sure if he did have them set in place, Those deals would have set the Blazers over the top or at least to be a high contender for the championship. I always thought Paul would pay whatever needed for a team that would be able to contend.
