Just listening to this podcast and David Locke said that after pick #11, 50% of players won't make any NBA impact.

Givony thinks RHJ, Kaminsky and Looney will be picked lower than they should be. Mudiay too, although he thinks Denver is probably his floor. He also thinks Towns is by far and away the best player, then Okafor, and Hezonja is the third-best player in the draft. (He can't work out until Barcelona finishes the playoffs, and that may not be until after the draft.)

The Knicks have the cap space to just sign Aldridge outright. They wouldn't trade the 4th pick for him. That makes no sense at all.

They do? Wow, Phil isn't doing as disastrous a job as I thought.

I didn't listen to the podcast but I used to listen to Locke every day when I lived in Utah. I remember his statistics about players drafted past #17 (or somewhere close to that) rarely make an impact. I just think this year is an exception.

The draft is always a gamble - but - a good draft is still the most cost-effective way to improve your team.

Call me an optimist (you'd be the first), but I truly believe the Blazers can find a solid rotation player in this draft.

If he goes undrafted, I would consider signing him to a 3yr min contract to replace Crabbe. I think Qualls is a guy who at least has a decent chance to become a quality NBA 2 guard...

Our only hope to land Kristaps is by landing Orlando's pick.

Probably the most underrated 3-D prospect, Anthony Brown is the latest riser.

DX moved him from the 50's into the first round.

Treveon Graham should be going up boards. I think he is gonna be the next Jimmy Butler.

David Locke amd Chad Ford agree with their ceiling for Kaminsky: Channing Frye.

    Ouch.

"Many" teams are trying to trade up for Kristaps.

Neil has a lot of comp for that Orlando pick.

At first when I read that I thought no Frank will be a little more effective inside than Channing. But damn Channing is up to 255?
And Kaminsky is only 230. Maybe that is his ceiling. Either way I like how both are effective in the high post. But we have Leonard for that.

Although I think Kaminsky has a higher ceiling than Frye, I don't think that's too bad of a knock. Channing was drafted #8 in 2005. If we look at the top talent in the draft that year, here are the top 10:
    - Chris Paul
    - Deron Williams
    - David Lee
    - Danny Granger
    - Andrew Bogut
    - Marvin Williams
    - Brandon Bass
    - Raymon Felton
    - Channing Frye
    - Jarrett Jack

That was a pretty normal draft year. Most years you don't get more than about 10-12 solid starters. Channing has been playing now for 9 years, and has been a solid starter for the past 4 years. I think he was a reasonably good pick at #8, and about what you can expect from that range in the draft.

Right now, NBADraft.net has Kaminsky at #17, and DraftExpress.com has him at #12. Even if Channing Frye is his ceiling, I'd say he is a bit undervalued at this point.

Does Chad Ford really know much? I mean, I hate to bring up Pavel Podkolzine and Yi Jianlian...

Kaminsky has also been compared with Olynyk, presumably as an insult, but I think Olynyk with better passing skills and longer arms isn't so bad. (Plus: NO STUPID HAIR.) The thing that makes Givony rave about him is that he has a "pure point rating" better than most point guards. Why isn't he being compared with Pau Gasol? Too scrawny?
