Funny. When Hawes chose the Clips over the Blazers I doubt he envisioned playing in Charlotte next season.

Well, that proves it was no fluke that Steve Ballmer ran Microsoft into the ground.

That is some baby back bullshit. Barnes + Hawes = Stephenson?

I guess if you are an LA team...

The clippers got worse IMHO. Less defense and even less big men.

It was rumored Char was considering offering up their pick just to get Stephenson off their team

And they traded for a guy that plays their deepest position. I assume they're going to trade Redick or Crawford for a SF, or the might decline Crawfords option so they have $9M. If DeAndre leaves, they're absolutely screwed, because they'll only have $4M to $9M in cap space to fill starting center, backup center, backup PF, and backup SF. If DeAndre returns and they play Stephenson at the 3 they'll still be worse than last year because they will have even less of a bench.

I bet they deal Redick and sign Ray Allen and Francisco Garcia for vet mins.

If they're dealing Redick, I'd hope the Blazers would make an offer.

they'd want Batum for him which as much as I think we need to explore trading Nic I'm not sure that's the right deal. If you have Stephenson and Crawford at 2 you don't need Allen, plus if Allen returned I don't think he'd go there

Doubt it, I bet they'd take Kaman and next year's second.

And then they would hope for Paul Pierce to come for the MLE

    PG Paul / Farmar?
    SG Stephenson / Crawford
    SF Pierce / Hedo??
    PF Griffin / ???
    C Jordan / Kaman

I dunno. How much is Redick making?

You'd want a lockdown defender at SF. I still have a fantasy about trading Afflalo for Nene, then trading Nic in a 4 team trade I saw on BR recently and getting Galinari and Chandler then flippin Gallo to Atlanta in a sign and trade for Carroll, but unless Neil pulls something insane like that, then we can't benifit off of saving money by getting Redick instead of resigning Wes

That's too confusing. I just rather deal Kaman and the second for him, let Wes get his money, then draft Delon Wright, and sign Aminu with the MLE and Joel Anthony with the min. (re-signing rolo, Wright and Freeland to fair deals after). Also, finish the off-season with the 5 year max with LA and Meyers+Dame extensions.

    Dame / Wright / Blake
    Redick / CJ / Crabbe
    Batum / Aminu / Wright
    Aldridge / Leonard / Freeland
    RoLo / Leonard / Freeland / Anthony

Hawes is soft. Stephenson is a better defender than Barnes, maybe equally boneheaded.

Stephenson needs the ball in his hands to be effective, Barnes and Hawes don't.

I agree. It is going to be interesting. When Dallas traded for Rondo I was glad since it took the ball out of Ellis' hands.

No one dominates the ball more than Cp3, and for good reason, he is a master at running an offense. Now if CP3 gets hurt then Stephenson will come in handy. But I am not sure how they will play together.

Having said all that the Clips did not give up much for him, and CP3 does have a tendency to make other players better, so maybe he and Doc can reign in Lance and make it work. I think it is probably worth the risk for them. Plus it is one less option for Wes IMO.

that's too simple. You downgrade the offensive lineup and downgrade the bench

Is Redick a downgrade from AAA or an uncertain Wes? http://bkref.com/tiny/l8wJy

I don't see how the bench get's downgraded either, we are adding a lot of defense+playmaking to the extended minutes Meyers and CJ will get.

Paul/Rivers/Stephenson/Crawford? Those are 4 of the top 10 ball dominant guards in the league on one team...:smiley-bash:
