I don't but Cowens's take; when he played, Oden was a 24 PER player capable of 24/12 on a good night, with one year of college. That's not journeyman. That's exciting rookie with a ton of upside. You can't separate Oden from his injuries because that defined his career. But the numbers from his first 82 games tell me Cowens is more interested in hot takes than thoughtful ones.
Oden's career PER is 18.7. He got stripped in the post constantly and couldn't stay out of foul trouble.

It depends how one spends their time within the mainland. Personally, I thought it was a highly enjoyable experience and I would gladly do it again when the opportunity presents itself.
