As our starting 2 though? With LA on the floor? Poor Dame and Batum would never get the ball.

Just my opinion... but backup 3 needs to be a Spot up Shooter (Dunleavy) or a lockdown defender (Aminu). I don't think CJ and Green would do well together.

I loved Green and wanted him last season, then I started watching Suns games... That didn't involve playing us lol

So a guy who was an all star, (even if it was in the east) a member of the US World Cup Team (even if he played limited minutes) and a player of the month winner (All last year) has a low BB IQ? ? I find it hard to believe that Krzyzewski would have him on his team if that were true. I am not saying he is a superstar, because if he were we would not have a chance to trade for him. But a package centered around Nic , who they seem to like, is worth exploring in my mind.

He is very effective in the paint.

Nic is better than DeRozan. DeRozan is a slasher who likes to shoot long 2s in ISO. He's not the type of player you put next to Dame.

Derozan is a ball dominant midrange chucker.

We have enough of those. ;)

Debatable. I'm always wary of Spurs players - you're buying high when you trade for them. On another team I suspect Green would be about 70% of what he is with the Spurs. Basically my rule is don't trade for Spurs role players because they'll never provide your team with what they provided the Spurs.

I usually agree but this batch of Spurs players seem different. Green, Leonard and Belinelli all seem like guys who will play their role to their best ability.

Yeah well the game I remember most is when he continually took our wings into the lane and jumped right over them scoring at will. We were at his mercy and had no answer for him. That is what we lack and what he excels at. At 6'7" 220 I would put him at SF along side Dame and Wes.

He runs the floor well and obviously knows how to finish.

    One game.

Well, to the second point... It seems like a lot of players we are at their mercy with no answer for them. Sounds like a coaching issue.

Maybe I caught the one one game where he looked all world. But I can't get past Krzyzewski taking him on the USA team. I trust his instincts when they are the same as.......mine.

Was it 13-14 he scored a ton? This season DeRozan played us once and scored 22.

Oh, back to my "our coach doesn't know how to adjust or stop a player".. here is list of players that went 30+ on us this season (list of 25+would be way too long):

    Russell Westbrook (38,40,40,36)
    Rudy Gay (40)
    JJ Redick (30)
    Ty Lawson (32)
    Anthony Davis (31)
    Derrick Rose (31)
    Tim Duncan (32)
    James Harden (44,45)
    Nikola Vucevic (34)
    Eric Bledsoe (33)
    Kyrie Irving (55)
    Chris Paul (36,41)
    Dwyane Wade (32)
    Steph Curry (33,45)
    Brook Lopez (32)
    Trevor Booker (36)

This stat is moot unless we lost all these games. Maybe we did? Do you have that info?
Really doesn't look like that long of a list and most of the players on the list are all stars.

Does it matter if one player goes off if we shut down the rest of the team and win the game in the end?

Some players cant be stopped. You have to stop the other role players.

Win....lose.....practice scrimmage....Trevor Booker should NEVER (let me repeat that) NEVER score 36 points on you. Period, end of story.

I don't agree with this at all. They have been USED the same, certainly by McMillan, but they have very different skillsets. Batum is used as a backup PG a lot of the time and never posts up, two big differences from Wes.

Boy, that Steve Kerr must be useless - a player scored over 30 against his team FOR THE ENTIRE FINALS!

Oh wait, his team won. Maybe that's what's important and not whether individual players go off on you? Maybe sometimes the plan is to LET some players go off so long as the team wins? How many of those games you list were Blazer losses?

No it was not this year. It was probably one of these two games. But it wasn't the total number of points I am impressed with but rather him being good at attacking and not just standing out at the 3 pt line. He has good size, good hops, good handles, runs the floor, is disruptive in the passing lanes, and is a great finisher.

I look around at the other teams in the West and some of them are catching up fast. Utah and maybe even the Wolves, depending on how good Towns is are developing excellent young cores. I worry that we're going to be back in the wilderness very soon for a while.

What's with the Derozan love? He's pretty much garbage. He's the shooting guard version of Rudy Gay.
