I still think batum to Detroit makes a lot if sense for them. For us, well, obviously a lot of factors come into play for our offseason and direction.

So who was their SF? And Aaron Gordon is what, exactly?

So we trade Batum and who? CJ? Leonard? For the #5 pick in a draft long looked as weak? You, my friend, are suffering from irrational exuberance, a common affliction around draft time.

Portland is devoid of tradable assets, but just now was the second I've heard the Trailblazers really like Porzingis, met with him in Vegas.

Didn't they just use all their caproom on Ilyasova? How're they going to absorb his contract?

Playing devil's advocate, I can see one way it happens. The other team would have to believe they are ready to make some noise next season (hence not wanting a rookie), AND they have a really wretched contract they are desperate to dump on somebody.

    So much for Batum.

Obviously. But who is this mysterious "other team"?

Now I'm nervous: if we sell the farm to move up and draft Porzingis then I may have to become a Timberwolves fan for a while. At least until the inevitable happens and Olshey gets fired for the most massive swing and miss since Oden.

Way to go, Fez: I was looking forward to the draft and now I'm dreading it.

The upside: we won't have to trade into the top 3 next year if this happens - we'll get there on merit.

    Fair question.

I would have to look up their cap numbers, but I could see OKC dumping a long-term deal for a one year rental. Why Batum? The same reasons you cite as to why LMA likes playing with him.

Why do the Blazers do it? If they think LMA is staying, they probably don't! Dumping Batum and taking on a bad deal just to move up 9 spots sounds like something you only do if you are seriously tanking.

Even adding ilyasova they have the space to absorb nic, assuming Monroe is gone.

People think Detroit would say no, but I can see SVG envisioning nic playing the same role hedo played for him in Orlando. I think he'd prefer the proven player in nic that can really fit that team well over the pick at 8.

Will be interesting to see what Olshey does. I can't see him staying put. It's too big an opportunity and Neil is a pretty pro-active GM.

We are not devoid of tradeable assets. Besides Nic there is CJ and Leonard. For the RIGHT player they are all options.

whats funny is I actually like Batum, but don't believe he is going to get any better and if we really want to win a championship, need to upgrade. Orlando is one option as mentioned before. Skiles is a defensive coach, Harris is a FA, and sooner or later that team will want to start winning. I could see us packaging Batum, our pick and maybe even a future 1 to move up to 5.

This guy is headlining the workout in Portland today:

Second round guy. I see Jerome James. He compares himself to Robin Lopez.

Maybe Boston is the team (Kristaps)?

    Relax, Rasta.

Ainge is always super aggressive. He's on par with Trader Bob.
