The church and racism are certainly elements of this heinous crime.

My take is the church is symbolic and also a sort of magnet that drew the victims together in one place.

I believe it was historically significant church to the black community so it was probably chosen for that reason and the convenience of find a group of black people with their guards down. So I guess I agree with you but I feel like we need to argue over it. :)

Sure assholes, racists, facists, and greedy people with weapons have practiced genocide for religious reasons, power, wealth, racism, etc..I don't see on that list the Chinese laborers massacred during the goldrush or entire tribes of Native americans killed for land or lynched slaves in the south, etc...America has a bloody history and many of those killed here did not have a record of their plight in the archives...just a trail of blood. Conquistadors from Spain were a bloody lot as well. Each of these massacres is a travesty and to even put up a list showing we're not number 1 in the world is pointless. This white kid is a product of his own making and a monster. I am sickened by the fact that it's still happening in 2015

My heart goes out to the victims and their families. There's no justification for senseless murder of innocent people no matter what the incentive was.

Very few times I agree with you; but on illegal immigration I definitely do. Keep up the good fight.
I do not support people coming here illegally and are then able to suck up our services, whether that be medical, driving, etc.

    Unfortunately not everyone is condemning.
Because you can't condemn what you deny. (you not directed against people here, a generic "one")

The NRA, unsurprisingly, blamed the pastor, who is also a state senator, for voting against open carry. Or was it concealed carry? Can't keep it straight.

Several on the conservative side claim the target was "Christians", and is part of the "attack on Christianity". Like gay people getting married, or teaching science. I'll bet you anything if the Supreme Court legalizes marriage quality they will say it's an attack on Christians just like the killing in this church. Fox News and Wall Street Journal explicitly said racism is not an issue. Fox blamed abortion. Really. Rick Perry said the problem was prescription drugs. Jeb Bush said we don't know what was in the killer's mind. Even though he said so, clearly, and more than once, that he was out to kill people who are black. Bush also said we need to "recommit to Christ". He can commit to whoever he wants, I am not committing to any religion, thank you. Also blamed: Al Sharpton, Barack Obama, liberals, gun control, gays.

The killer could not legally purchase a gun due to criminal record so his father bought him one. Father of the year.

And the confederate flag still flies over South Carolina. Unlike the American and State flags, it is not at half mast. Numerous state politicians have tried to say it's "our heritage", Mark Sanford "explained" it was part of their heritage for centuries. Yes, for centuries during which human beings were owned as property because their skin was darker. That's the heritage and the confederate flag belongs in the same garbage dump as the swastika flag.

It was reported that the killer (and many kudos to the 72 year old woman who tracked him) is talking and reportedly said the people in the church were so nice to him, a stranger, that he almost changed his mind. He almost was a human being. He almost saw these people with whom he had been worshipping as fellow human beings. What stopped him from being human was not anti-Christianity, or Barack Obama, or prescription drugs, or abortion, or gay marriage. What stopped him from being human was racism. And anyone denying that is not really condemning these murders.

BTW, if a church wants to be a "gun free" zone....isn't that the exercise of their religious freedom?

What would happen if you were to hold church services inside of a gun store?

They don't want to argue about the real issue, his self-proclaimed motive...after 40 years of nonstop rape propaganda turning back the clock and making everyone sexually paranoid, he proclaimed he was killing blacks because they rape. He is a radical male feminist.

At age 21, that's how his generation has been indoctrinated in school. Sexual repression propaganda is what keeps this country conservative.

It certainly seems to be the case from what he said. But perhaps there is a little more worthy of note.
It was surely and un Christian act and adding this with what he said, I think he was not a Christian. Perhaps no moral train at all.

If he was a racist (no argument here) then he sure as hell was a cowardly one, he didn't go take out the Bloods. No he went after the Christians in their sanctuary where no guns are allowed.
Pretty safe place to be an ass hole practicing his race hate.

Most of these young wackos the last few years have been without a Dad or a mentally absent one. This one seems to be all fucked up and Dad is even be part of the problem, giving his wacko kid a gun. I hope some heavy charges are laid on his ass too. It appears he is guilty of creating a monster and then arming it.

You're wrong about that, and it's a pretty lame argument that is unsupportable by facts, links, or even common sense.

    Freddie White riots:
When ANY black is unjustly killed by a non-black (which happens way too often) and the media makes a big deal about it (as they should), "many" riot, steal, kill people and basically act like sociopaths. In the last year alone they have pretty much destroyed 3 cities causing well over a billion dollars in damage. They ruined the lives of scores of businessmen most of whom were black. There was no outcry from the media at all, which instead actually tried to justify their murderous behavior. Despite the fact that most were caught on camera, there was no arrest or prosecution of the thousands of criminals who torched occupied buildings, stole everything that wasn't nailed down, stoned people on the street, murdered policemen, and riddled passing cars with bullets. And you wonder why racism continues?
No need to ask where thousands of black fathers were those nights because we saw them all on camera. Their kids are better off being fatherless.

    Boston Massacre:
Muslims murdering westerners happens every day somewhere and has since the 70's at least, I've yet to hear or see any repudiation by moderate muslims in major media.
Doesn't matter, actions speak louder than words so I'm waiting for these moderates to get off their duffs and act. Until they do, I'll view them as I view Nazi soldiers who "were just following orders".

    White Male Bikers in Waco:
192 people were initially arrested in connection with the shootout with 171 of those charged with participation in organized crime.[3] They were booked at the McLennan County Jail. Per that inmate list, as of May 19, 171 people were arrested under arrest case WPD-15-9146, charged with engaging in organized criminal activity. Of them, 124 were white males, 41 were Hispanic males, three were white females, two were black males, and one was a Native American female.
    melee

    noun: melee ·
a confused fight, skirmish, or scuffle

If you've actually read the many eyewitness accounts this was definitely a classic melee, a political meeting of rival gangs where a fight between 2 bikers turned into a shooting of one, a retaliation against a couple others, and sent 200 surprised bikers running for cover. Waiting cops sprayed the crowd with semi-automatic fire killing 4 or 5 bikers and causing more panicked stampeding for the exits. Probably not your standard Bay Area melee, but everything's bigger in Texas.

Nobody asked where the bikers fathers were because the bikers are mostly in the 40-75 age group.

Comparing an unplanned gang shootout where only the shooters were hurt to pre-planned mass events meant to deliberately harm hundreds or thousands of innocent strangers to convey a political message is pathetic.

You say "My point, which I guess I have to spell out in words of one syllable, is that a white male is seen as an individual.", but your posts make it clear you personally don't see us as individuals. Neither does the media.

OK, he convinced me. Pure logic throughout.
    -------------------------------

Man that would have been funny to dissect if it weren't so tragic. He contradicts himself repeatedly and is obviously bat shit stupid.
