Not just Noah's case. Asik on the broken leg. Bulls' doctors telling Taj his injury will heal with rest in the offseason.

How many times do they have to be wrong before you get that they're just wrong?

I'm not sure thay can all be yesterday's news. Mirotic can't cover for all 3.

One thing is certain. Somebody on the court is going to score some points. Usually...

With Rose and his 18PPG out for a stretch of games, our average score didn't fall by 18PPG.

Maybe McMorrison might score 30/game if he's the only guy taking shots.

The real question should be who steps up and contributes to winning. Our record was much much better with Rose and his 18PPG than it was with Mirotic winning player of the month.

Remember Orlano (SIC, no "D") Woolrige? Guy could score. Team was meh. Reggie Theus, too. Those teams were deep and talented. Meh.

If its a "win later" team, which a Hoiberg / Butler / McDermott / Mirotic core would be, Mirotic is the main guy at the 4/5 and the other guys don't really matter anymore.

The Bulls are seemingly trying to "win now" and "win later" at the same time. Like Thibs said, most NBA Champions don't feature rookie players and are fully in "win now" mode. Crying about playing time for rookies over productive veterans is a "win later" mentality. Next year will be another mess. McDermott will need development minutes unless he becomes productive overnight. Mirotic will need development minutes if Gasol, Noah and Gibson are all good. We'll have a rookie coach. And there is a vet core of Rose / Butler / Gasol / Noah / Gibson that wants to "win now" I'm sure. Does the organization want to "win now?" The Cavs certainly do, they traded Wiggins for Love without batting an eye.

Are you bothered by an approach that isn't purely win now or win later? I'm not. Most teams need to maintain a dual focus (current and future). If you put a gun to my head, I guess I'd go for the future...Lebron James has finally managed to intimidate the shit out of me. He needs to take a 5-year sabbatical or something.

The Mavericks are win now, all the time. It's netted them a championship, a second finals appearance, conference finals, 4 semis, and 7 additional playoff appearances. They've won 50+ games 12 of the past 15 seasons, 60+ 3 times.

What does win later get you? Without Thibs, zero 50+ seasons, one second round exit.

Sell me on it. I'm all ears.

I don't think you can really do both well. The Bulls especially. I don't think most good teams have a dual focus. The future does look like the better option, given the Lebron superteam. This season was the best chance, which makes all the nonsense even more frustrating.
