...like it says, if he wasn't before, this kid will now be a "fan for life"...and check out the other videos about this kid on this page; http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/...ul-ball-i-got-your-back-detroit-tigers-062415 ...good job, Miggy....great stuff.
I watched this 3 times over last night on Quick Pitch, PURE CLASS, even tho' the boy was wearing a Chief Yahoo Hat........ this is what MLB is all about.........nothing finer........!!!
...^^^ indeed great stuff........ IMO, this IS the EPITOME, of what MLB is all about......great video, and memory this kid will recall all his life, telling his great grandkids, at the age of 90; and I expect MIggy will be in the HOF long before He reaches Adulthood......
I was going to post this, What an amazing gesture. MLB needs more players like Miggy & what Jeter use to do & make it memorable for the kids.
...kinda reminded me of the time when Mattingly went near the stands for a foul ball...and reached over and grabbed a handful of popcorn that a kid was holding...that kid has gotta be grown up now and I bet he tells everyone that story.
CLASSIC, Moment, I recall watching that game, and laughing my ass off, Donnie being Donnie... I once read, when the Yanx played the Rangers, Donnie would walk from the nearby Hotel, instead of taking the team bus, and he'd have a gang of kids walking with him, as he signed autographs, talked baseball, and answered the kids questions...... Reminds me of reading about Babe Ruth, after a game; having a gang of Kids walking with him to his home.....those were truly the golden days, when Players knew they were playing for the fans, and always gave of themselves to the kids.....
On the other hand when Miggy got his DUI in Florida he was not quite so cordial. But he handled that kid well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Miggy is A-Okay in my book. Seems to be a regular jovial guy with warts and imperfections who also happens to be perhaps/probably the greatest hitter on the planet for the past few years and played through last year with an ankle injury which needed surgery and still put up outstanding numbers. I wonder how many fair weather fans thought he was "dogging" it as he slowly ran and joggled around the bases last season. Good goin' Miggy.
I would of drove him home, for a game used bat and jersey.....with a couple autographs on various objects......
