Whomever mention trading CJ and the 23 This kid is an all star in the making and he showd last year that he has big time game. So why would want to trade him for a guy that has shown you nothing a rookie that might become what CJ already is. think it through. Makes no sine to me moving batum no problem get something for him and do it nowpick for 4th overall must be losing there mind. I dont think other than Russell there is a player in the draft better than CJ.

Just a tip, don't make a whole new forum post to respond to something in another topic.

Why not? That's how the Trade Batum thread came about and I thought about starting a thread for CJ since he is on so many peoples trade option.

I agree. don't trade him OR Meyers. We don't know their peak yet.

Guys I do not want to see on any type of trade option:

    Meyers Leonard
    Damian Lillard
    CJ McCullom

IF we trade these guys away for what? Proven vets? hmmm how well did the Afflalo trade pan out? Not saying it was bad at the time, but when you trade away guys you don't know the ceiling of, for guys that have a history, but are JUST as capable of flaming out as a prospect....again for what? Less cap room? Trading these guys would mean we would get a larger contract in return undoubtedly, which will hurt our chances of resigning almost everyone. The only way it helps is if we are gutting the team to make cap space and trade for expiring's, but then that's a rebuild and who wouldn't want these three as a core rebuild?

Trading CJ makes no sense to me at all.

If CJ+23 got us Russell/Winslow/Hezonja I'd do it as fast as I could. Sorry.. CJ is a nice piece but ultimately is replaceable as a 6th man.

    Name the all star?

Again, players can fade just as quickly as they can find themselves.
Name an All Star that would be a need for this team that would be worth tossing the only strengths on our bench away? The one thing we need tgo improve upon(Other tham team play on defense and PnR?

There may be quality all stars out there, but would they fit in?

I say no, unless you name the all star and explain why he would be a good fit. Then I might think twice, but as far as I see, there is no one out there that would help this team be a contender next year by trading away our only good bench players.

It's easier to find bench pices than all stars. There's various tyes of all stars width trading those two for, you said that you didn't want to see them in any trade though

Leonard, CJ and #23 for DMC? Not like it could happen, but I would do that in a heart beat

With Affalo as a memory, CJ's role will expand. He did excel in the playoffs.

He's still a 6th man. A super sub. He just doesn't have the size to defend guys like Harden or Klay.

I would literally give any assets or players not named Damian Lillard or Meyers Leonard for Cousins.

Could he defend all the other teams? Harden and Clay had the stellar years and in that case the Blazers have to exert their will through another prime player like Dame, LA (if he stays) and Wes (if the body repsonds).

Let's look at nba starting 2 guards that we backcourt of Dame and CJ would struggle with:

    Klay
    Harden
    Butler
    Wade
    Beal
    DeRozan
    Oladipo
    Johnson

Pretty much any quick or athletic player

Playing devil's advocate.........How many of those on that list were kept in check by Wes? Or anyone else we bring in? Wes did a great job on Harden and Harden still ate him up at times. I don't think it is the quicker guards who CJ will have a problem with but the ones who are good at posting up. Klay, Harden, DeRozan (Twice a year) If they are not used to posting up then having them do something they are not comfortable with tends to back fire. Especially since CJ is good at knocking the ball away.

Maybe not last year but his def. got much better as the season went on. Besides what are you going to get with the 4th pick an unknown player that may or may not be good. In Cj you have an up coming all star.

Maybe not an all star, but a nice 6th man or emergency starter.
