that's a bold statement, considering we have 7 guys under contract right now*, and none of them are SFs.

Dame, CJ, Henderson, Meyers, Vonleh, Plumlee, Kaman: not a SF in the bunch.

*I'm not including Crabbe b/c I can't find a definitive answer on his 3rd-yr option. If you know, let me know.

And he's cheap too. $1M contract. I'd prefer him as a backup getting 10-15min a game though. And what would you give up for him?

Play with Lillard under Stotts or play with Bonner under Popovich. See what I did there

I don't think you can trade Henderson with anyone else other than Vonleh. I'd trade Vonleh, using the trade exception for Chandler. I think they'd take a prospect like Vonleh for someone thatll leave after a year. Turning Nic into Henderson and Chandler would be a great move. Coupled with the 23 for Plumlee, maybe then the national media would realize were not rebuilding.

Because inefficient scorers on terrible teams always thrive on better teams.

Oh wait, I forgot: we're probably the worse team now. Sure, bring him on. Why not?

We don't have the assets to create a trade for a starting SF IMO. Look for the SF to be a signing.
Carroll or Aminu is my guess. I'd also like to add Monroe to the mix.

    DL - GH - Aminu(S) - LMA(R) - Monroe(S)
    TF - CJ - Crabbe - Leonard - Plumlee
    Wright(R) - Vonleh
    (R)=re-signing
    (S)=FA signing

Chandler more so than Gallinari, but Gallo is the shooter, so that's who they would probably target

bleh. Why would we sign Monroe? We need a defensive center, and he's a horrible defender. Only 1 3 point shooter in the starting lineup gives LA no room to opperate. Frazier and Crabbe as rotation players? No thanks.

So... who is this defensive center supposed to defend?

The rim of course. That's tricky though because he will be guarding a guy like Draymond Green at the point line.

A guy like Chandler, probably isn't going to push this team from early exit playoff pretender to championship contender. He would keep us about where we have been though. Vonleh has the potential to be really damn good. I just think it's a better bet that in the long run, the organization that has Vonleh will get more out of him than the organization with Chandler

Getting Chandler to be a backup to DeMarre Carroll or someone else would be awesome. Only allstars can change a first round exit team to a contender, that's not to say Chandler wouldn't get us closer. The thing is, if you're trying to get LA to come back, you do Vonleh for Chandler. You don't need 2 young developing players at the same position as your franchise player (1 of them won't get enough minutes to develop). If you're set on rebuilding you keep Vonleh but if not Chandler can help get you closer to contending

You want to trade the 9th pick in last year's draft for Wilson Chandler? Seriously?!?! Even if he didn't just have 1 year left on his deal that would be a bad trade imo. Vonleh has Bosh-type upside. Not saying he gets there but even if he doesn't that is better than Chandler.

Vonleh for Wilson Chandler might be the worst idea yet

Chandler is a player we could have had at last year's deadline and we took Afflalo instead. Forget how that turned out just think what we must have thought of Chandler right there.

There are two scenarios concerning our SF. In one, we keep Aldridge. In that one we have much less money but also would only need a complementary role-player type. The Aminus of this world (although, if we get someone like that, we'll miss Batum's ball-handling and distribution skills even more).

In the other, we've lost Aldridge and we're looking for scoring and a possible young star from SOMEWHERE, and why not SF?
In that scenario, given that we've no hope with Butler or Kawhi, and probably not Middleton either (although he's certainly worth a shot), what do people think of Tobias Harris? He (or his agent) has just come out and said he wants a "near max" deal, and as Orlando has a bunch of good young players and just drafted a swingman in Hezonja, the suggestion is that if he gets a big offer, they won't match.
Question is, is he worth pursuing? (Yes, I know the general view is that Boston, NY and the Pistons are after him, but that doesn't mean we're not a better destination, especially as we have NOBODY at SF right now.)
(Yes, he has been called a PF before, but he played predominantly at SF last season for Orlando, and did pretty well.)
