No we won't. If we trade for Hibbert, instead of offering max to another player like Jordan, we would be 15 mil less. The other contract would still be on the books, while Hibberts would be off the books

And that is a point in his favor. The team would get a chance to kick the tires and check him out before committing to a multi-year deal.

Exactly my point! And we would have his bird rights because we traded for him as well.

no indication he wants anything to do with this franchise or city? How bout his quotes last year about him resigning and wanting to be the best Blazer ever? Or the fact that he's been in touch with Olshey this whole time?
Oh wait, the bogus report is what affects your judgement, just because it's from the "worldwide leader in sports", or is it because Damon Stoudemire is selling his house?
You need to stop bringing the same "LA's gonna leave" stuff into every post. You might as well make that crap your signature

If we're gonna "kick the tires" on an average player with attitude issues thats overpaid, and plays with a lack of intensity because he only has a year left, then we should've kept Nic Batum.
But now everyone loves Noah Vonleh....

False... We already kicked his tires and knew what to expect. Hibbert, Jordan or anyone else are all uncertain. Who knows if even a great player can come in and work out just fine. The last thing you want is blowing a load on a player like Jordan, then get stuck with his max salary for the next 4 years. With Hibbert, you can see how he gels, is the change going to help him, will he make us better. If he doesn't, then you let him go via free agency, or even sign him for far less than the 15 mil and be a decent big off the bench.

I feel very confident that Aldridge was done with Batum. Keeping him would make sure that Aldridge bolts.

Also, keep in mind that this would be the contract year for Hibbert, which would add more desire and motivation to his production.

I also think he wants to redeem himself. Everyone around the league has broke him down. Surround yourself with Aldridge and Dame, who are good characters and hard work ethics, you might see a newly reformed Hibbert.

you're acting as if the Pacers are why he isn't playing well. The dude is mentally weak. Remember how he disappeared in the playoffs last year? That's a reason he hasn't been playing well. Because he's not good, has attitude problems, and is mentally weak. Coming here would change nothing at all. Youre better off starting Plumlee. He has potential to a 16 and 10 guy. He's better in the pick n roll, and his athleticism gives him potential to be a great rim protecter. Oh, and he's only making 1.5 million

Bones, what's the currency in the NBA today?

I would submit that it is the following, in order of being coveted (by most rational GMs...some variance based on team situation, but in general...):
    1) Transcendent players (Durant/Lebron)
    2) All-Stars under 27 on non-max contracts (roster flexibility for a potential Big Three...think Steph Curry, Dame)
    3) Future unprotected 1sts (lotto possibilities)
    4) Good players on rookie contracts
    5) Future "Jermaine O'Neals" on cheap contracts with upside
    6) Future Protected 1sts
    7) Good players coming off rookie contracts that you must overpay to get away from RFA
    8) Cap Space (because it can generally get you #4, #5, #6 or #7 above)
    9) Former All-Stars on max contracts
    10) Role players on good contracts (Redick, Korver...)
    ...
    37) Expiring contracts
    ...
    194) Joe Johnson
    ...
    Hell) K*be

You'd be trading a #5 for something that's not even top 10 (role player on non-good contracts)

If one of your best friends/Co-Worker fucked your girlfriend/wife/SO I'm curious how mentally strong you would be?

Paul George is an excellent leader. He led Hibbert's girlfriend into his bedroom.

Olshey of course said he expects LA to be here and they have been in touch. Why because LA cannot talk about other teams until July 1. We have no idea if he is planning on leaving or not. I sure as hell am not going to just believe he is staying cause Olshey said so, he has every reason to lie.

I would be interested in Hibbert. But it'd cost us so damn much of our cap space. At that point we can only resign Wes and LMA. Think I'd rather target other players first. But if it's a scenario where LaMarcus and Wes agree to resign if we bring Hibbert in sure we entertain it. The only player we can really use in a trade is Hendo alone for Hibbert and that uses $9mil of cap space.

I'm not sure Hibbert is an upgrade over Rolo; they are similar. But we would lose AAA, Hendo, the MLE and trade exception to have Hibbert instead. We'd have no SF.

You seem a little young, so I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt about when you feel betrayed.

His best friend, Paul George, cheated on his fiancé (now his wife). The team didn't even intervene and try to diffuse the situation, while Lance Stevenson and Hill were in the middle. Anyone that has been betrayed by a woman like that (I have twice), it completely fucks you up mentally. I wasn't even able to work. Doesn't mean you are a mental midget. Just means you have a soul.

Except when you're trying to compete, role players are way above project players. Noah Vonleh had a slim chance of becoming Jermaine O'Neal. Thats a bad list and a terrible comparison
