    I absolutely agree, which is why I believe Chicago will just give him max regardless. Maybe they wait a few days to see if butler is stupid enough to sign with someone else. The worst case scenario would be Butler signing the QO and forces Chicago to offer even a crazier contract when the new TV deal kicks in

    One or the other. Taj had ankle surgery and is out 4 months. Back for the start of the season. I think he'll recover fully, unless the Bulls are hiding (or are clueless) that his injury is worse than reported.

    Noah has near zero offense, and will only get worse with age and wear.

    Taj is a finisher inside, strong offensive rebounder, sets a great pick, and has range out to 17'. He's also a very high character guy.

    Taj makes $8.5M next season, Noah $13.4M.

    That's all your cap space after signing LMA, and then some.

    I would trade for Taj and use the leftover cap space on Deng and Smith, like I said. Find another starting SG for ~$5m if you don't want Smith. I'm not seeing a better option.

    I really want Brandon Wright as backup center. Super athletic and a good defender, you could maybe even start him. He's not flashy but would allow you to look at other areas. He's always been underated and next to Aldridge I think he'd kill it. Plus he could be had for, what, 5 mil?

    Here's why:
    The Blazers have an awesomeness rating of 90%. It is VERY hard to get from 90% to 95%. Sacrifices will have to be made: take on a talented headcase, take on players with injury problems, outsmart the other GMs,... GS won a championship using "horrible knees" Livingston, do you think that was a bad idea? Of course not, it was a calculated gamble.
