    Hey Guys,

Do you think Aminu is a good potential pickup? I've heard he's not a good shooter. Any truth to this?

Being honest, I don't know shit about this kid. I'm a big fan of defense though and would rather have a Ruben Patterson, without the rape, than some pansy that shoots jumpers.

Aminu would be a great pickup if we were going cheapish at SF to spend big at SG and or C. I would rather go cheap at C (Koufus sp?) and spend big at SG or SF but I think LMA is pushing for a stud big...

Same. Id love koufos and to spend on a sf or sg.

And I don't really wanna spend $7 million on aminu. Dunleavy at 3-4 million works for a year or two.

Shakes head.... Again.... Failing BS meter. My post was sarcastic based on Maris's "He can't shoot," post, which was basically what has been said throughout this thread, including by those wanting him.

What is MLE this year? 5.8? I would be fine with that price for Aminu if we went that route. Dunleavy doesn't play great D. If we are getting Monroe then at least ONE of our starters has to be able to stop someone.

All love, brother! Just gonna keep cup-checking you while you're probably living in the world that is "baby brain". Of course, that brain has been altered many other ways as well.

Well he shot 27.5% from three last year but he also took a career high in attempt since his rookie year with the Clippers when he shot 31.5%. I think that would improve with us. More than anything else just need him to be consistent as to keep the defense honest.

If Aminu can't score consistently but plays great defense...we have a younger, cheaper Nic Batum back on the team..what's not to like?

    Neil drafted Aminu.

My biggest worry with him is (as someone on twitter said) his Jerome James potential. Dude came up in the playoffs when Parsons went down for a few games, but was largely mediocre the rest of the year. Just beware of the flash in the pan.

    I'd rather go after Crowder

and I'd rather look for guys who show they can step it up in the playoffs, if he can be had for 5-7 mil per then I think he is probably a good get, especially with how the cap goes up the following year, we need a few guys who can play serious D to go along with the shooters

Agreed. He did step up in the playoffs. Granted it was a small sample size but then I'll take that over the numerous Blazers that disappeared in the playoffs in their small sample size. Which of those outcomes seems preferable?

So many people find so many flaws not worthy of signing a guy. Monroe is a good scorer but isn't a good defender, we don't him. Aminu is a good defender, but doesn't score well enough, don't want him. It like all we as fans would be willing for is a guy who averages 20 and 10 with 5 assists 3 blocks shoots 50/40/90 and has 40 inch very. Then we'd think about it.

Well stated. Every player has flaws including the ones that could be leaving. The same would be expected of those coming in. There aren't a lot of LeBron, Jordon, Magic, Bird types out there and even those guys had flaws if you were picky enough.

Aminu actually shot .636 from '3' against Houston. His effective FG% was a staggering .661.
