Everyone needs to get off this "LA and Olshey are playing the NBA" scheme and just accept he is gone. Besides trusting Gunderson and his source, I spoke with another person who has connections to POR and another front office. This guy placed chances of LA leaving at 90% this year at midseason. Now he said its close to 99%. This was the same guy saying PDX had been trying to trade Batum all year.

LA has two kids that live down there, he hates the taxes up here and his grandmother is very sick. He's ready to go home and it's between DAL and SA. It's in everyone's best interest to deny, deny, deny so LA (and potentially PDX) get the most with a S&T.

On a positive note, he mentioned Portland is by far the most active team in the NBA and mentioned DeMarcus Cousins...

The taxes talk is such bullshit from people that don't know what they are talking about.

I love the Taxes argument. You pay taxes in whatever state you played that game in. He will pay Oregon taxes 41 games the year, so it does take a hit but not as big as people make it out to be.

And they forget the fact that if he had kept his residency in texas, he is an Oregon non resident and is only paying taxes on games inside Oregon. As a texas resident, he still isn't paying state taxes on his income other than games played inside other states.

Didn't he officially move to la? If dude changes his residency from texas to la, it shows you just how much he doesn't give a Fuck about taxes

And California has one of the highest state income taxes. This is just a moot point

Exactly. So, he'd likely pay less in tax is he signed here and had a permanent residence than in CA.

I'm old enough to remember how Tim Duncan was on his way to Orlando until David Robinson flew back from vacation to persuade him to stay.

    Who's our David Robinson?
