agree, he has IMO one relatively slim chance this yr with the spurs and I assume he will sign a 4 yr deal - but then again he has other options as far as contract years go

Brian windhorst was just on rain talking about lamarcus. It's really funny to me how every espn analyst is still not even mentioning Portland. You think they would just learn and waiting for woj.....

I'm interested in nobody the Spurs would offer.

I don't even know why this whole thing has bothered me as much as it has. Probably because that team for the last two years was my favorite Blazer team. Now it's all gone and the future is uncertain. Marc Gasol handled it as expected and I wish Wes never got injured so Lamarcus would be handling it the same way but things happen, maybe it's for the better, I don't know. LA was our star man. The L train. It's gonna sting good next season if I am assuming right.

You get that. I get that. Does LaMarcus get that? Does he care? Hard to say but it's up to Olshey to sell that point.

I won't be surprised if LA signs back here with an opt-out next summer.

It would suck to go through this all again but with that said, there might be better options next summer. It would have to be sign and trade at that time though I think with Dame's contract kicking in.

San Antonio made the deal with Atlanta to ship Splitter off. You would think they would have to be relatively confident that he is coming before making such a move.

I hope he stays. I think if Portland can somehow get a commitment from Monroe before he is done wining and dining with other teams., That will help. If Portland can lock those two up. I think they need to pay Wes whatever it takes. Henderson will be a great backup but that's all he is. Portland will fall short with him as their starter.

You don't understand. We can't get Monroe unless we renounce our bird rights on Wes.

From what I read from a few recent tweets, that deal is not guaranteed to happen. Dunno if that's true, but the media dude made it sound like it wasn't certain to happen.

If that's the case then I would much rather him sign somewhere else. I can't do this emotional roller coaster ride again

I would gladly take Monroe and LA together. That is a beastly front court. Sorry to go the negative route but if that's what he wanted to he would be trying to help make it happen instead of meeting with other teams. Don't get why he would pass that up, sign a shorter contract just to see if it works but hey if he thinks it's win now in San Antonio, go for it. I don't think that Spurs team would win though. Yeah the starting 5 looks scary but that bench wont look as great and Manu has already been declining, Parkers injury issues, and ya never know with a 40 year old even though he is indeed, the best PF of all time.

I think he is just paying the courtesy to other teams before dropping the bomb shell. His meeting with New York I think is holding up a Monroe deal with the Knicks.

I would assume that it would focus more teams to try and sign Monroe before we could get em. With the power players concentrating on Aldridge, Olshey got his foot in first to try and nab him. Also, I doubt Aminu would have been that easy but Dallas had hopes they could get LMA

It's exactly that. I sit and have lurked on these forums for quite a while, not really participating but I had to get in on this one. If/when he signs to the Spurs, Blazer fans are gonna go ape shit. Burning jerseys type of ape shit. I know some fans wont think of it that way and think he made the right decision but as a hardcore fan, one that's been here since a kid watching the jailblazers to watching Roys career end and a bust in Greg Oden, we really don't deserve this. This really is an emotional rollercoaster as corny as that sounds but people don't understand. Basketball is really all we got over here. I worry about what this final roster will look like. The uncertainty drives me crazy. I believe in Neil and Paul but I gotta see it man, an Aminu deal isn't gonna do it for me. You land Greg Monroe, I will believe more.

I, for one, wouldn't burn my Jerseys if he went to the Spurs. That would mean he wants to win now. He's had 9 years without mostly success in Portland. That would be tough for any man. Remember Dame just got here, so he didn't go through the Lottery, then injuries to Oden and Roy, then getting bounced many times.

I can respect him for making that change. What I wouldn't understand is if he left us for Houston or Lakers. Then shit would get real.
