I'm not ready for another rebuild. The Oden/Roy/LA mini-era was so exciting and enticing, especially after that Jailblazer bullshit. That Olshey retooled on the fly and created another 50 win team so fast was amazing. The way the Blazers were playing in December was championship caliber. But now this, this fast? Trying to get excited about Aminu and Vonleh or whatever their names are is next to impossible. I trust Olshey, and don't blame L.A. for going to the Spurs, but F, this sucks. 35 wins here we come.
Yeah it sucks. The writing is on the wall; I'll be surprised if LMA returns. If we get Monroe I'd be fine, then we have a lot to be excited for. He's a legit 2nd or 3rd cog with Damian. A 25 year old big that is cheaper than LMA and has a chance of surpassing him. We'd need another piece but you can see the promise. But without Monroe its going to be tough. If we lose out on both of them do we bring back Lopez, Afflalo, or try to sign Kosta Koufous? Those are the best free agents left. Its a lottery year and hoping CJ, Meyers, Vonleh win most improved player is about the only way were interesting.
Ya gotta try hard to find the sliver lining brotha. For me, I'm playing college ball this year so now I'll be in the gym grindin instead of watching this rebuild. I'm thankful to be too young for the JailBlazers era because I'd be super depressed... especially since I'm a 49ers and Mariner fan, and the past few months have been just as bad for them too. At least most of yall have the Seahawks, cuz I think I'm cursed. This will probably be the worst year as a fan in my life.
Gonna miss seeing the Wes celebrations. The ball movement for an open three. The chemistry that team had. We are heading into the unknown my friends.
At some point I'd like to see this owner get this team into contention and then keep them there for awhile. Much of his ownership has been spent rebuilding and retooling. At some point it has to become exhaustive for him.
