For the 1,000th time, the trade was made before Wes went down, and AAA was brought here to be a backup. No revisionist history there, that's what the trade was for. Do people just forget so they can argue?
They do. Just like they did when we traded Miller for Felton. It was the right trade at the right time, then circumstances changed unexpectedly.
I really wish more members would actually read first prior to posting. I cant keep up anymore because most of it is all rehash, and Im losing my love affair with the site because of it...
Some of us were upset when both trades came down. I didn't think either one was going to be good before hand... so there is no revisionist history here.
If (the collective) you were upset when both trades came down, it wasn't for the reasons that the trades turned out to be for the best.
My point about this is I have seen people really upset that we lost our pick for a 2 month rental on Afflalo, I was bummed about it thinking we would need top 3 luck to keep it. Now I am looking at was has unfolded and we don't look like a Playoff team now. Keeping that pick in the top 14 is huge for us now.
Yeah its a nice bonus to having a 2 year rebuild. If we have all these young guys on the roster with more room to improve and somehow miraculously make the playoffs it will be such a positive indicator of our players high future value I'll be fine losing the pick. The west is stacked. Any scenario where the team is worse than that we keep the picks.
If you aren't going to be very good, one of the best things that can happen is to be very bad. You just don't want stuck right in the middle.
I don't know what the odds of us having the worst record in the NBA and getting the 15th pick are, but I like our chances!
Me too... Same club seats near half court. Now I can watch all the missed shots and sprinting back and fourth.... I hope the buffet is back. I will just hang out in the food court stuffing my fat ass...
Look at it this way. If Aldridge stayed (stays?) the team probably picks in the mid-twenties next year, if he bolts we're definitely in the lottery and we lose a second rounder the year after.
Debatable. The additions Neil has made will keep us competitive, and there's still $27M of cap money to use. This may still be a playoff team.
