On the one hand that is great money and financial security coming off of his injury. On the other hand its the freaking Sacramento Kings...
McLemore will clearly back Wes up, could play alongside him while Gay sits, or they could all three play together with Gay as a small-ball stretch 4. I don't see a playing time issue.
Great job WES! My favorite non-Blazer. It sounds like he is holding out hope Dallas gets DeAndre then they give him a similar amount. But regardless I might get a Wes Dallas/Sacto jersey. Stick a Blazer for life logo over the other teams stupid logo's. I totally understand Paul Allen wanting to avoid paying for another injury; especially with LaMarcus likely bolting. But I'm very glad Wes won't have lost much of any money from his injury.
It might sound silly; but I'd rather have Wes' jersey retired than most the damn ones in the Rose Garden. I'd definitely rather have his up there than Roy. I know it won't seriously happen but just really enjoyed being a fan of his all these years. I hope we give him a hell of a special tribute when he returns next season.
Weird, I couldn't disagree more. His wanting to be a 2nd option on a team and wanting $15 mil a year means that he would probably leave. Being Aldridge's best friend on the team has LMA thinking about leaving, too. This desire to investigate other teams forced Neil to go young. Yes, IMHO, Wes's dumbass dreams broke up the team. He'll realize his mistake in the middle of next year but it'll way too late for us.
Wow. I don't recall seeing details of Dallas' offer. I hope Wes didn't just lose his proverbial bird in the hand. On a semi-related note, what Dallas have Parsons last summer really set the number for Wes this year. Interesting that that's where he's going to end up.
Sactown is a turd sandwich of a situation, even with Demarcus. Surprised he turned that much money down though.
