If it did not work with Monta, then I can't see it working with Dame. Rondo needs to dominate the ball.
I'd b ok w/ Stuckey but only if he's cheap; I'd offer him a max of 3 years. I'm pulling for Ish Smith (Stuckey can score it better but Smith can pass much better/higher rate. I know we need more sg help... but I'm still feeling Smith's added passing is more important; we'll get added scoring outta our other positions/guys)
was anyone else in the Practice Facility the day that an unnamed Blazer employee told us about Rondo's visit to Portland? Involving the (IIRC) ice-cream cone? It was during Cho's M&G, after Wookee was doing exercises prescribed by Bobby Medina.
(Completely second-hand) Supposedly Rondo was coming to Portland to walk through the PF. I think it was a pre-draft workout or something. He's getting the tour of the place, and is asking for an ice cream cone. Over and over. Some Blazer assistant-to-someone-or-other runs out to get him one. Finally comes back in and gives it to Rondo. Dude didn't say thank you or anything, took one lick and started walking away. After that one lick, he just dropped the cone on the ground and continued with the tour/meeting.
Hell no to Rondo. Yeah I'd be ok with it. Need some PG defense. CJ would play basically only SG. I bet the Rockets match but at least makes them pay a bunch and if not he's an asset. I was thinking of him earlier; could be a good addition if we want to win. Not sure that will be our goal. Just don't know if him or Stuckey have that upside we want. Might rather target a younger more inexperienced player with the potential to break out. Sign some undrafted players or a couple D League stars during the season. Bring a euro over.
Rondo probably chased off the big 3 in Boston. Don't want a head case to spoil the athletic moldable pieces we just gotten.
