Reminds me of Thomas Robinson. Only not as exciting.

Ha I like that; let the Knicks panick after he sucks as a 19 year old and then trade him to us.

Yes I believe coaches can do basically any individual work its just when some number around 3 or more players are grouped together or the players go 5 on 5 the coaches have to walk away.

Yeah totally like trob. Only with a jumper, more height, more length. But totally like trob otherwise.

Good call. T-Rob really blossomed in Philly. 17/15 per 36 and a 19 PER!!!!! A defensive rating better than his team. That's a nice player. He can't shoot though, so he's dead to me

    My favorite acquisition so far.

He's a huge 6'9" 250 -- and has awesome potential as a post defender, even at the five spot.

At 19, his base is absurdly built. His legs are Chuck Hayes-like, only Vonleh is pushing 6'10" in shoes:

The body is great. It would be better if he was a superathlete instead of a good athlete. The question I have and that I'm sure few of you can answer is this: does he have Desiiiiiire. Does he have that Damian Lillard/Thomas Robinson/Biebs work ethic and desire to be great? If so, we really have something. If not, he'll be a disappointment. He slid in the draft, many thought he would go 4th, so there's something there for sure.

Vonleh's upside is so much higher than TRob's. I don't know that Vonleh will ever reach his potential ... he probably won't ... but I think he actually was brought in as something of a low-cost heir apparent to LA. Really soft touch inside and out, but a more dynamic defender than LA.

if he can play SF effectively we could put some really fun and effective lineups out there in the years ahead. An almost 6'10" 245 lb SF with a 7'4" wingspan!

According to 82games, He played at the 4 and 5 for the Hornets last season. I'm not sure which positions he played while attending Indiana.

Yeah, it's like he spent a few seconds there. It's bascially a worthless sample at the 5.

I don't think he has the quickness to play SF but maybe against certain matchups in a zone like Utah used to do with Paul Millsap when they would occasionally play him at SF and cause us havoc.

I like what I see in this vid of him from last season's summer league. I know it's only summer league, but it gives you a good sense of his skill set offensively.

He's got a nice left hand, a good jumper, rolls HARD to the basket, finishes strong and has a better handle than most big men. He just needs playing time. Looks a big like a young Z-Bo in that you wouldn't run a lot of plays for him but he would be very active around the basket and can hit an open shot.

Rereading this thread, I noticed that 6 days before Olshey announced the Aminu trade, SanteeSioux thought of Aminu.

Jason Quick had talked about him early on as well. Don't remember whether it was an article, tweet or in a radio interview. Freeman quite a while ago said they would go after Monroe.

Monroe has been an obvious target for us for a year or more... I remember really wanting him on our team last summer.
