Who is Ed Davis? Apparently he wants to be the next Enforcer. http://www.750thegame.com/ed-davis-vows-to-be-the-next-enforcer/
Davis gon be our junkyard dog. I could see him easily averaging a double double. I expect him to start. Only question IMO is will it be next to Leonard or kanter.
If Kanter is on our team and his defensive is all that bad, I'd like Ed to start and bring Meyers in off the bench. Meyers can be a big part of our offense but doesn't need to start to do so. Maybe we can use him like a Ryan Anderson type role...but he dunks also.
I know that no one is gonna come out and say anything less when being an incoming player to a new city, but what he says is exactly what we need him to be. He is already coming in knowing his roll. Pound the boards, Set stiff picks and protect our guards. If we nail Kanter, this will likely be your starting 5 Dame CJ Aminu Davis Kanter Second unit: Frazier Crabbe/Connaughton Henderson Leonard/Vonleh Plumlee/Vonleh I heard Meyers will be fighting for that starting spot though and he might take it. I like putting Aminu and Davis out there though, because we will need them to lock down on D with Dame and CJ and Kanter on the court together. IF Leonard and Dame can take another step defensively this year and Meyers takes the starting spot, that's even better with Ed the enforcer coming off the bench. If they do that, thats a pretty strong starting 5. Dame CJ Aminu Leonard Kanter Imagine that 5 with improved D... I think they could run with anyone in the league and then get back on D to be a beast. With this starting lineup though, I don't see much scoring from the bench. Plumlee? Crabbe? Bout like our bench two years ago. I see alot of pick/Rolls and lobs and running down the court. I see Davis setting screens during fast breaks. Does anyone know what Davis' steals/TO rate is? I'm just curious, but players that play like this are not usually good ball handlers and have high turnover rate, but sometimes can also cause turnovers with their fierce, in your face defense and helping out at the rim. I just love that the Blazers are not changing their vibe and this has to be a PA thing. Players of character. Players that will play within a team concept.
