Gotta keep durant happy...I guess. Doesn't make sense to match in any other scenario.

I agree with most. I'd be 55/45 Wes with our otherwise rebuilding roster, if he weren't coming off this injury.

I'm more 55/45 Enes given we are rebuilding, and Wes is coming off his injury.

Given LA's development from 23 to today, it's hard to not like Kanter's potential. To be, the knocks on LA are similar to Kanter. And Kanter doesn't have to fill the role of leader - we already have that - so Dame would shepherd Kanter if he weren't going back to OKC.

The thing about all these plus/minus, on-off court stats is that, if your backup is a defensive specialist, you're going to look worse on defense no matter what your defense is like.

They're gonna be in the same position with Durant that we were in with LMA. There's no way he's re-upping next summer unless they make it to the Finals. And at that point does OKC really want to be tied to an $18M C on a shit team?
(I know this goes against another post I just made about us not having a chance at getting him.)

True dat. If it weren't for Adams' D, his PT would be rather limited, as while his O is coming along, he still is quite raw from the 6-8 games I watched him last season.

Kanter is 60th best center in real plus/minus, which is NOT good.
Of course, it's better Kaman and John Henson.

Not sure what to think about Kanter possibly being a Blazer.

Kanter’s ast./turnover ratio is horrible, with very little improvement, if any, over 4 NBA seasons.

Kanter's pretty bad defensively, there's no real getting around that. But he's POTENT offensively. If our job is to suck for two years to get two lotto picks, but be exciting enough to put butts in seats, this is the guy you hire, with the hope that his defense, which has been improving, continues to do so over those two years until he's passable when you're ready to make noise in the playoffs.

When you put up such superficially impressive offensive numbers and still have a negative value - that is impressive, and not in a good way.

Edit: that chart also reaffirms the obvious question. Why in the blue hell did we keep Kaman!!

That's okay, we won't be playing him at PG very much this season.

Luc Longley wasn't very good on defense. His job was to stand near the basket and be tall, hands up. Even that was a struggle to do right for him.

Kanter is the #2 option the team badly needs on offense.

I am more than fine with this move. At worst, he's overpaid but a really good offensive player for the rotation.

    What i want to see:

    Kanturk
    Davis
    McDaniels
    CJ Urkel\Hendo
    Dame

    That's a good+young starting 5 with good balance between defense\offense +pretty good rebounding.

Reminds me of Al Jefferson, which was always referred as a terrible defender. Ironically, he was on the Jazz and that team was still considered a very good defensive team.
