Don't sell us short. You forgot Afflalo, Gee, Wright, and Freeland. We lost seven free agents for nothing.

How can you say his % went down when last year was the first real year he actually got enough minutes to do a decent comparison?

You do know he was a 50/50/90 last year right?

It was rather obvious to just about everyone that Meyers made significant strides last year, compared to his rookie to second year.

I meant last year as his was post was talking about the modern NBA.

Edit - even then - Pippen was the only who was pretty much even a half time PG. And that's 5 people in the last 15 years you listed. I know there are more but that's the point I was making.

Not all SFs are ballhandling play making machines.

I can only assume you are referencing Lopez and Matthews, neither of which even received offers - and honestly - they shouldn't have at that market evaluation they received. Don't understand the complaints.

You really wanted Wes at 16 mill and lopez at 14 mill? Would've lost all our cap space and been significantly worse.

Any player who can put the ball on the floor and finish in traffic is an upgrade. Vonleh can do that it looks like. At his age he's coachable and Meyers isn't exactly a surly guy..I think it's a young players dream to be in Portland right now instead of buried behind some old vets forever. Once they put on those pinwheels and step into their first homegame they'll get the fever!

    Masks.

No name on the jersey, no faces, just "gladiator #12". No interviews or speaking in public either.

Knowing how some fans are, they would still give them nicknames and get attached.

He has greatly improved, and it's clear he's done enough that (most of) the fan base is excited about him all of a sudden, and the team is counting on him to continue the growth, enough so they've basically pushed him out there as an integral part of the future.

Good thing this city doesn't have an NFL team. Players get tossed aside like Taylor Swift goes through boyfriends.

I thought we returned them to the talent pool in exchange for cap space. I think we've still got $20 million left or something like that?

True, but in free-agent-repellent Portland, that's basically the same thing as nothing.

Forgot LeBron, Iggy, and Durant (who does bring the ball up a solid amount)

When would you have traded them? Tough to trade guys when you are 2nd in the west and on a roll.

He reminds me a little bit of Shareef Abdur-Rahim, who eventually shifted to power forward.

Shareef was always a PF in Atlanta. Wasn't it Cheeks dumb ass who tried to turn him into a SF? Yup.. Failed experiment...
