Yanks tied for THIRD best record in THEIR LEAGUE at all star break which is also good enough to lead THEIR division and tied for the lead in another division and five games behind the Royals for the Central lead.

Yanks also are 8-4 vs those other "top" first place teams and have already won the season series from BOTH of them.

So , do "WE" actually think those other teams with such "GREAT" GMs are so much better than the Yanks?
Don't make me laugh......no, never mind.....I could always use a good laugh.

Swallow your pride and give Cashman some props....and try not to be so prejudiced.

Cheer up..Yanks doing okay.....and yes....I DO KNOW WHAT DATE IT IS and how many more games are left......
....you see....unlike a couple of others on this board...when I celebrate one of my birthdays and blow out the candles on the cake....
I don't blow out the candles by saying:
"yeah but things could go wrong and bad times are ahead"......

    Jerks.

    Now you're outright exaggerating.
I very often say what I feel needs to be said in the name of fairness and even handedness as opposed to being blinded and tainted by anti-Cashman sentiments.

I have posted plenty of criticisms when I see fit....for instance:
I AGREE with those who say the Yanks would be better served if they hit better w/risp.
Drew and CC (obviously) have stunk up the place HOWEVER, I admit my fault was agreeing or understanding the Yanks' thought process in giving Drew a chance to rebound from last year's debacle after having a timely ST with the team ..I happened to think it would be a fair chance of him batting maybe .240 or so with at least 12 or so HRs along with good defense.....I specifically said after they signed him,I would give him the first couple of months before pulling the plug...and I HAVE said often I would've preferred to give Pirela a good look at 2b after Drew was benched.

As for CC, yes indeed- I felt he could, should've been able to make the transition from being a power pitcher to a fairly competent #3-4 SP with his 90 mph fastball, good breaking ball and decent changeup.....I said I would also give him first couple months before pulling his plug.....if Cashman insists on keeping him in rotation as he sucks, it could eventually kill the team's chances of winning the division and I'll personally rake him over the coals. And the Beltran signing has turned into a bummer.....bit,to be fair...before the Yanks signed him, he had a very good year with the Cards.

But Cashman has also made a couple of off season moves which have been assets to the Yankee bullpen - Shreve and Wilson.
Shreve so far, 35.2 IP, 2.02 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 3 HRs allowed.
Wilson so far, 33 IP, 2.73 ERA , 1.03 WHIP, 1 HR allowed.
    Combined - 68.2 IP, 2.37 ERA, 1.01 WHIP 4 HRs allowed....
Both effective vs LH and RH batters.

And I admit, and have said prior to this season, I gave Cashman a "pass" last year - Beltran was a washout with his elbow issue, McCaan struggled a bit last year possibly from learning a new league...Tex struggled and I think it was because his wrist still wasn't fully healed, Nova went down early in the season.....

But THIS is a new season and as of now, I have NO reason to give Cashman a pass or any excuses..let's see how things turn out...I won't, and NEVER have a problem criticizing the Yanks or management.

No one here has said anything negative toward you for some time now & yet you continue to bait posters for an argument, this time by referring to us as JERKS. You're just begging to be ignored by everyone aren't you?

The board has been calm and civil so what's the point of ending a thread by calling everyone jerks? BLG please stop your idiotic self importance and repetitive nonsense. Nobody is interested in your never ending quest of having to be proven right.

When did I say I was "right"? Just commenting on some factors and stats and giving a little love to the Yanks and Cashman for their current situation.......please Mess.....consider how many times we have constantly heard OVER and OVER and OVER from some posters about Cashman and ownership doing a lousy job and how some posters saying Cashman and company should've done this...or that.....but I'm referring to the here and now and from what I see, it sounds like sour grapes because the Yanks are doing just fine as we speak.....I am NOT predicting great things are going to happen....just keeping it real which - imo - this board could use.

As you blissfully ignore the main issue of calling everyone jerks. Just cut shit like that out already and you what I'm talking about. You threw jerks in there to get attention and garner a reaction. I'm not putting up with nonsense like this starting up again.

Rick, all I can say is....I didn't single out any particular poster and the word "jerks" applies to "jerks"....... I don't consider you or the whole board " jerks".....and guess what....?
I can also be referred to as a jerk...and have been called worse.
In the context it was used.....it was describing -imo- someone kinda misguided and off base at this point in this season with so much repetitive criticism from NOT ALL posters....and ALL posters have a right to their opinions.....sorry for using a rather moderate word describing my disagreement...and yes, it was a negative connotation.

Just used it as a punctuation. "jerks". Lol......sorry, but it is kinda funny.

Please don't string this out by trying to justify it. There's no reason to come here starting a thread calling anyone jerks. Make your point like a normal person and get a discussion started. Your approach is certainly not going to lead to a constructive discussion. As for Cashman like you have been told multiple times before there's a long way to go. They have also missed the playoffs the last two seasons. So I'm not throwing a July 16th party and naming him executive of the year.

Thank you. Very simply things have been pleasant here since the blowup. No need to go back in a negative direction.

I hear ya Messiah- and only because I respect your opinion and not wanting you to think I'm a total jerk - regarding your reminder of plenty of games left, I DID also mention in my first post:

Cheer up..Yanks doing okay.....and yes....I DO KNOW WHAT DATE IT IS and how many more games are left......

    Okay, it's done with

...does have a certain ring to it, doesn't it?

...one reason I've always wanted to win the lottery, aside from the obvious, is to have the ability to say "fuck you" to 10 people or more each day, every day, for the rest of my life.
