    Cleveland was not able to do much with this contract this off season and next year everyone will have cap space. They get a trade exception that is not very valuable while we give up nothing. I would lower expectations on what we get in return.

    I don't think the cavs give us Christmas...but if I were Olshey I wouldn't do the deal unless they did...they seem pretty desperate

    That info sure changed everyone's mind fast. We would just be a temporary holding account for an hour.

    The draft pick wouldn't be 2nd round. The Cavs have no 1st round pick in 2016, and have their own 1st round pick every year after that.

    Basically we pay 2 million for a pick. I don't see us spending that much for a couple of highly protected seconds.

    On the other side, Cleveland could save more than just 2 million if they are I'm tax land.

    I think I would only do it for a lotto protected 1st in 2018 or better

    The article I read mentioned that Philly and Utah can also help them in the say way. So i am not sure we will have the upper hand in the negotiations. I really don't think we will get much in return.

    Cleveland has such a late pick, I can't believe they'd offer only a 2nd rounder. It's a 1st rounder.

    I re-read the thread, looking for the $2 million that we lose. What is it?

    Whoops. My mistake. Thought it was partially guaranteed for two million. But appears it is completely non guaranteed.

    In that case, I'd probably do it and accept any pick they offer, because it costs us nothing

    If it's a late late 1st round pick, go for it. If it's a late late 2nd rounder, don't waste the time.
