So they could get a $10M trade exception

Good point, my dad is like 15 years younger than him and has no idea what a Twitter is and only just recently got a cell phone.

What happen if Cleveland in the next 4 years decides to sell another 2019 2nd round pick? How does that work?

I don't think Cleveland can trade away either since they're both included in our deal even though we only get 1.

We will waive Haywood and trade miller for a second rounder...even as wounded with time miller is he is still valuable to contenders who want a three and done guy

I'll bet they could do a deal like 'you get whichever of the two picks Portland doesn't get', or 'you get the Lakers pick if Portland does not exercise their option to take it, otherwise you get the 2023 and 2024 2nd round picks'.

They could probably do the first.

The draft is taking on the stability of the housing market.

So Portland had a certain amount of cap room to sign players and make other lopsided trades. Granted this was a lopsided trade, but these players go against their cap and it goes against their flexibility, no? Should I assume it's the teams goal to be bad this year and not make any effort to improve?

Only 2.8 of it goes against the cap. Haywood is not guaranteed.

Miller will be on our cap (for 2.85 MIL unless we buy him out then that number could go lower) but Haywood at 10.5 MIL won't be on our cap as his contract is unguaranteed if we cut him before August 1st.

Look at this way. Ticket prices will be less on the Internet.

So with Miller on the books, how much money does that leave the team then. Guesstimate?

Only until we get rid of these players, which will likely be soon.

    Yes, you should assume that.

Miller is close to LeBron. I'm sure Cleveland made some kind of deal as to where they could get him back.

Seems kinda high, but I'll take your word for it...

It's also been said that Portland has to spend a certain amount of money before the season starts. Did they reach that requirement with this deal?
