Members of activist special interest groups need to be aware of changes to the federal laws that define terrorism, and the penalties associated with terrorist acts. The changes were made in the 1996 anti-terrorism act.

Example: Crimes committed against federal employees while performing their official duties can be classified a terrorist act. Blocking navigable waters is a federal crime, if the crime prevents the Coast Guard from performing their official duties, their activities may be classified a terrorist act which may result in much harsher penalties..

My point is, there are new twists in the federal laws that might get good people with good intentions into a lot of trouble.

Is it what they are protesting about that is annoying so many of you or the fact that they are protesting?

I don't like protests that impede others from doing their work or living their lives, especially when they break the law to do so. Go march around the Obam house if you must, but impeding Navigation is out of bounds.

I live right near the saint johns bridge and the one big thing I hated about this was how much damn traffic it brought into my neighborhood from everyone wanting to go to cathedral park and see the protesters. Other then that I don't mind what they were doing.

Ha! Right on queue. Yes that was a pretty good protest, they did not impede anyone one, stop any traffic or Navigation ( the ship was anchored I believe).
If these guys did the equivalent, they would back they vehicles up to the edge of the dock and empty their gas tanks into the river. You can bet that would
get their asses in the slammer in short order.

So stealing and damaging private property is okay but impeding traffic is not?

I don't support their reason for protesting but I do support the rights of all Americans to protest.

Interesting to see who the authoritarians are versus the free-thinking sons of liberty.

I couldn't care less about this particular issue, but I'm glad some people are still willing to peacefully practice civil disobedience. Without that right exercised I wonder how much longer this great experiment is actually going to last?

I don't think anyone is denying their right to protest. But protests should have rules... Like not commiting crimes during the protest.

What do you think the concept of civil disobedience involves?

Seriously, what does it involve? I have difficulty grasping concepts...

I think it's simple in today's world at least...

    1. Don't hurt anyone
    2. Don't block people's way of life
    3. Don't vandilize

There was nothing worst than taking my daughter to her mother during the Black Lives Matter protests.

Dude, closing down the bridge today brought hords of traffic downtown. It was literally gridlocked on every side street in NW. Pretty $hitty stuck in 100 degree heat with no AC.
