...I know a lot of people blame the way Joba was handled as the reason why he failed...but maybe he just was not that good to begin with. I mean, how many times have we seen prospects called up (pitchers and position players) and they start out on fire and then once "the book' is out on them and other teams figure them out and they fall back to mediocrity. ...and I don't mean just Yankee players, it's that way throughout Baseball.
That's always bugged me also Lillie, I mean I have no problem resting a reg from time to time but not two for the same game.
Joba was a product of Yankee hype; you know how this organization hypes a new player = product of The Empire.......they did it to players coming up in their system.............remember, Phil Hughes. He was never the same after back injury. So, they traded him to Minnesota (for whom?) and they straightened him out until recent injury. ................all ......regardless of personal upbringing.
