Didi has settled in very nicely. For having to take over for Jeter he's really coming into his own. In the field he looks like a different player than the beginning of the year and you really have to like his bat. Eovaldi has all the potential in the world. His record is a combination of great run support and certainly improvement on his own part. He has to add efficiency to his game which is the hurdle he has to get over.
Be careful what you wish for. You can end up with a James Dolan who destroyed any interest I had in the NBA.
Don't know Dolan or what team he was associated with as I don't care for anything basketball related... pro or collegiate... I'm thinking someone like Mark Cuban... someone fiery... someone passionate... someone who could surround himself with those wiser than himself within the industry regarding talent... now doubt he could run the business end...
One of the biggest most highlighted vacancies/question marks was what are the Yanks going to do to fill the SS spot with Jeter retiring.....and EVERYONE was aware of possible added pressure/scrutiny the player and organization could face. Gregorius started slow and struggled offensively and defensively the first two months. I tend to believe it was a combination of him trying too hard, feeling some pressure and getting settled in a new league. Since June- .297 BA, 5 errors, (2 since June 21) and a lot of excellent plays included. Home/Away splits are surprising. Home- .225 BA, .617 OPS, Away- .317 BA, .768 OPS There's no doubt he has been surging in the 2nd half, .331 BA- .826 OPS! Gotta believe he'll eventually improve his Home numbers. I guess all things considered, we'll have to live with those splits. For example: McCann. He hits over 70% of his HRs at home and his AB/HR ratio since being a Yankee are: 1 HR per 13 AB at Home, 1 HR per 33 AB on the road. Remember when the Yanks first got McCann and we saw a spray chart which indicated his HR output wouldn't significantly improve from playing at YS? So much for THAT spray chart. I guess the poster didn't weigh a couple of other factors such as how the ball travels at YS, how well the batter sees the ball or his comfort zone. LMAO..."spray chart". Time will tell what type of player DiDi levels off at....but I believe he won't be a ".235" hitter.....and I'm beginning to believe he not only is absolutely one of the better all around SS in the league- there's also a very fair chance as he matures with more experience, he can be one of the very best all around SS in MLB.
The selling price would likely be in the neighborhood of $3 billion. Sorry but Jeter and an investment group is not going to be able to do that. It would have to be assumed by another conglomerate.
The investment group would have to include some of the richest people in the country. This is not a franchise somebody would be purchasing for $250 million. Mark Cuban in the past has even said it's something he couldn't afford. Perhaps a stake in the team could be sold off but I don't see why the family would do that. If it was to be the entire thing you would need a conglomerate like a Cablevision to purchase them.
...an investment group very nearly bought the Clippers for somewhere between $1.5 and $2 Billion. (going from memory) ...I didn't say anything about Cuban and I don't know if he could afford it or not...hence an "investment group".
Shhhh...things usually get quiet when you mention how well the DiDi deal has thus far turned out. Just pretend Cashman didn't clean Dombrowski's clock in that deal....LMAO. Excuse me, I just mentioned Dombrowski's name....gotta genuflect. Okay- it's done. Phelps - last 6 starts (July,August) 5.83 ERA, .316 BAA, avg less than 5 IP per start. Season- 4.50 ERA, 1.35 WHIP Prado (good player) .276 BA, .695 OPS, 7 errors in 102 G at 3b Headley - .276 BA, 741 OPS - Obviously has made alot of errors but hopefully seems to have settled down making 6 errors since June 12. Has been known as a solid 3b prior to this quirky season. Yanks leading hitter w/ risp .322 BA , .929 OPS. Overral, has been an asset to this team----- IMO
Yanks currently have the 3rd best record in the league, 1.5 games out of first place behind Toronto. They have a winning record at Home, on the Road, vs LH/RH pitchers, vs East,Central,West, Day/Night, Grass/Turf, Interleague, .500 in one run games. Toronto is 31-33 on the road, .500 on GRASS, 13-24 in one run games. Houston has a losing record in one run games, winless on turf! MLB? Yanks have 7th best record. They currently would be in 1st place in the N.L East and 1 game out of N.L West. Dodgers have a 28-36 road record- you think the Dodgers are a "better" team? lol Keep in mind we still have a month left to go and it remains to be seen where the Yanks will measure up with those other teams who are supposed to be "better". Only the Cards, KC and Pitt have W-L records better than 1.5 games over the Yanks. Cubs- ONE game better as we speak. Don't make me laugh. We all want the Yanks to have a better record- we all want the Yanks to have THE BEST record. If that is your criteria for a GM, then I'm sorry- tough break. The idea is to first win the division- if not, earn a playoff spot- then advance. The regular season isn't settled yet- I know it sucks when your team doesn't have a BIG first place lead. Okay, you think Cashman is doing a bad job- fine. But speaking as Yankee fan to Yankee fan, no offense intended, but taking into account all of the above, I can't see how you can say Cashman has put a bad product on the field. It's clear you are being humored and encouraged by others who have the same opinion and anti-Cashman agenda, but I'm not one of them...and there are Yankee fans out there who aren't on this message board.
In the world of 'the glass is half empty' most everything sucks................Brady fleeces the hand that feeds him.... POS. ............The Kardashians all have big heads and huge asses.
