The iPhone will have those new ultra fast charging batteries that Samsung and Motorola have had for the last year. Everyone will freak out over this, praising Apple for being the first with ultra fast charging batteries.

Yeah, I'm in the market for a new phone soon. Was looking mainly at the LG G4, which does UHD. My brother has it and it does excellent low light video. Price wise, unsubsidized, the G4 is only $480 right now which is pretty good. When you're paying cash for the phone, there's a huge jump in price between paying $750 for an iphone6 or $850 for an iphone6+ so I'll probably stick with either the G4 or a Samsung Note4.

The only thing holding me back is the lack of storage for the price. Maybe they'll start at 32GB models, who knows. 16GB for the low end is pretty shitty 64GB is "ok".

Sweet, what did they "invent" this time that's been out for the last couple years?

Marketing that can use technology other companies innovate and streamline it to their "Apple Lifestyle" and charge double. Why spend money on innovation, when they can rip you off and make billions on it? I think they've learned their lesson on innovation when Microsuck and Samsung ripped them off

My Verizon contract is up next month. I'm definitely upgrading to the 6s+.

I have a galaxy S6 here for development and it's awful. I use a Galaxy Tab 4 a lot and it sucks, too. I'm talking about the user interface and just general user experience.

On android, I really miss my messages going to all my devices (and computers) seamlessly.

While Apple may not innovate like they did under Jobs, they sure are still making kick ass quality products that are upgrades over the previous versions.

I'm satisfied with just a bigger screen and major improvement in battery life. Those things alone make the phone worth it.

That is why I tend to stay away from Samsung, they make great hardware and crap all over it with software.

The pure Android devices are much better, software wise, I tend to go Nexus or Motorola for my Android devices - while it is not as polished at some things as Apple is - it is usually a bit more advanced in features and has some functions that are better than Apple.

I am ready for a new daily driver phone as well - I will probably choose between the new iPhone 6S, new Moto X and the Nexus 5X. It is going to be interesting to see what is coming with the 6S - we have an old iPhone 5 here for development, it is a beautiful device, but really too small for daily use.

I've had Samsung and LG and am really resistant to Apple products. I'm in the market for a new phone soon and have considered switching. Screen size and battery life are my main concerns.

    What should I go with?

I'm in the same situation as dviss. I've had the HTC one the last two and a half years and liked it, but I don't want to buy the s6 now that it's like six months old. Might go with the iPhone, but I hate apple products and want to chuck it against the wall when I use my wife's 6. Imo android is such a better os. And I hate safari as a web browser. But media players on androids suck, and it would be nice to have iTunes on my phone

If you really do not like Apple products - I would look at the Moto X - it has some things that are just pure genius - the automatic detection of being in the car and automatically reading texts for you and listening for answers / commands is the reason I really enjoy it. The camera quick launch gesture is also very nice. It does have some issues - the previous versions had sub-par cameras - but they do say that the new one has much improved camera (the reviews seem to confirm it) = it does not have the premium metal feel of the iPhone or the latest Samsung/HTC - but it is very comfortable.

BTW - I am somewhat interested in what Microsoft will be showing in October. They have been working on Continuum - which automatically changes from Tablet mode to Desktop mode as needed. I am sure they will expand it to phones at some point. If they actually produce a Surface phone with an Intel processor that can convert into a full fledged Windows 10 PC when connected to a dock that has a keyboard/mouse/monitor output - it would be epic. I might just have to get one.

That's because Jobs was the master at taking credit for other people's work. Apparently Steve Wozniak said that Jobs didn't do jack shit in terms of the development of the early Apple computers. He just had a really good mind for business (and screwing over his people.)

Thanks I'll take a look at it. I really don't know what direction I want to move in. I just know that I want to throw this fucking LG into the Willamette at times...
