I think I called this a few months ago. Though I didn't expect the talk to start until end of November at the earliest.

He's an extremely gifted player, but not someone you build around. This has been proven in Denver AND in New York.

I predict Dallas or the Lakers with Chicago and Miami as dark horses. I would say Sacramento, but Melo has a no-trade clause, so it has to be somewhere he'd agree to go. (So we're safe.)

Houston. They're dumb enough to try to make it work.

Like this statement or not, Brandon Roy and Carmelo's games are VERY similar with the difference being that Roy could initiate the offense. Both ball stoppers who need the ball to be effective. Both so-so defenders.

Not saying I want Carmelo but I wish at times Paul wasn't so much of a Play it safe kind of guy. That Jermaine O'Neil trade really did a number on him.

I agree on Dallas, but what do they have to offer? In my wildest dreams the L@kers trade all their young talent for Carmelo and then go off for 17 wins.

Josh Smith is still there, I think.

Just imagine a Harden/Melo/Smith starting lineup.

    aaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha. Make it happen Morey!

No way that trade D'Angelo Russell. He might be a Lakers but he has star written all over him. I'm just waiting till the thread debate starts between Lillard and Russell?

Smith signed with the Clips this offseason, actually.

I'd say Pat Riley will enter this sweepstakes

Whiteside as the primary? I can see that making a lot of sense for both teams.

I've been wondering what kind of, Chris Paul to the Clippers like trade might be available to the blazers in the near future, and Carmelo is the only guy I can think of. He seems like the only "superstar" player that is likely to be moved anytime soon. Can anyone think of any players that fit that mold? I think that with Damian being the undisputed leader of the team, adding a guy like Carmelo wouldn't be a bad move.

It would be a bad move. It would be a very bad move. First, I don't think he would want to play in Portland. That's a huge issue right off the bat. Second, he's one of the biggest egos in the league. He doesn't fit the culture we're building at all.

Boogie is the only one I can think of. Most of the other stars are on good teams and it is hard to see them wanting out or their teams letting them go.

What type of culture exactly does Carmelo fit? And what makes the Blazers culture so different from other teams cultures?
