Dude, that's racist. That statement right there. If I said something that started "what is annoying to me is how black people.." it would be considered racist. Period.

Or teaching children self defense. I think that should be mandatory anyway.

I don't agree with anything Ben Carson says. I do however, think he his a brilliant man who needs to be taken seriously.
What I will say is, look at how Ben Carson got to where he is. Lots of government funded programs were taken advantage of and look what was produced. A highly intelligent, hard working, physician. I admire him as a person but I wonder if he is a hypocrite though because he rails against publicly funded programs, while benefiting greatly from them (see Paul Ryan). This in no way takes away from his brilliance but it does make me question his character.

Clarence Thomas on the other hand is an Evil man and has no place on the SCOTUS. He is a disgrace of a human being and this is all I will say...

No dude. You're taking it to the extreme. That's not racist at all. You know what? It's annoying to me when Black People sag their pants. (it truly is. I cringe when I see this shit...)

    See what I did there?

Whats the context behind it? I know you made a blanket statement of "Sharia Law", but I'm not sure what Sharia Law says to kick the snot out of a short fat white kid.

I wish there were different words denoting types and degree of racism. Because, I would say yes, technically both statements you made (white prop,e..., black people...) are racist but both are also very bland and innocuous.

I didn't say this event was part of the Sharia Law. I was asked why Muslims are attacking white people in England. Then I said most cases were from Sharia Law crusaders.

Sure that's happened. It saddens me greatly. I just hope it ends. But let's not act like cop killings haven't drastically declined over the last 5 years (do your own research). This while being something that should be addressed shouldn't be the response to "hey we're dealing with this type of oppression". It shows very little empathy. No one is saying don't think about all the killings.

The thought process "racism towards white people doesn't exist because minorities have it worse" is very similar to "Americans can't suffer because people in many other countries have it worse". Talking about the suffering of a more privileged person or group does not inherently negate the suffering of the less privileged. It's like telling an American child who was raped that they don't get to feel bad because children in African countries die of starvation.

Jesus... I had to force myself to watch it all. That was fucking hard... All I pictured was my son being the one kicked...

No I don't think it was racism. There was nothing to say they were doing it because he had a different skin tone. It looked like EXTREME bullying to me. The kid was a lot smaller.. God that hurt me... They get EXACTLY what's coming to them... If I ever wanted to fight a kid...

I get it. And I do feel bad knowing someone goes through life having to worry about things that I don't . I have a black coworker who when asked if she would be interested in moving to estacada because houses and land are cheap there, immediately said no way because she would feel uncomfortable living in a predominantly white area that is known to have multiple firearms. It's sick that this is the world we still live in. I do have empathy for these problems.

On the flip side, I've been told countless times from people that my life is so easy and that everything gets laid out for me. This is the furthest from the truth. I've had to work my ass off for everything I've had, and it hasnt been easy whatsoever. I've made multiple sacrifices to get to where I am, so when I hear from someone that my skin color is the reason I got these things, instead of the dedication and work, as well as sacrifices and struggles I've gone through, it really grinds my gears.

My point is that you're generalizing many different groups of people simply because they have a white complexion. Historically the Irish have dealt with some very significant racism in England and America. The Jews had to survive one of the worst cases of racism in modern history with the Holocaust. I just think it's wrong to look at someone who is white and automatically disregard their experiences with racism simply because they're white. That's why generalizations and racism is bad in the first place.

I just think it's a bad idea to look at racism in the light of "well they can take it because it doesn't affect them as badly." I can assure you that a holocaust survivor, or the family of a holocaust survivor, would very much be affected by any kind of anti-Semitic statements.

    Here it is guys:

Racism is Racism. Call it out Stamp it out.
It's not laid out for you. Life is hard for everyone. We all know and understand this. We don't believe it's laid out for you. We just know that it is that much easier than you. If Trayvonn wasn't Black with Hoodie would he have been chased in the first place? That's a legitimate question. And while there is black on white and white on black crime, it doesn't happen nearly as much as we hurt those closer to our skin tone. We're just asking for empathy and respect. I don't think it's too much.

I never said all whites complain. I was born and raised in Portland. Most of the people I associate with are White. Lots of them do not complain about racism. I'm not generalizing at all. What I'm saying is WHEN Whites complain about racism it's easier to say yeah but. That's all man...

Sorry, tho it came out that way I didn't meant to imply you said it was SL, I was just wondering what the real story behind it was because I'm fairly certain beating a 10-12 year old kid isn't one of them.

I've looked online and found some articles/postings about (and boy are the comment sections full of people who really don't want Muslims in England), but I haven't found any statements saying the cause of the attack, just that the idiots who did it are arrested and that the victim is safe.

I'm betting it was more of misplaced anger about something (not "he stole his girlfriend, therefore it's OK", but someone who was bullied/dehumanized by someone and needed a target to make himself feel better about himself.

I had an experience like that in JR high. A kid in my class (who for clarification sake, was black) was always picking on the non black kids in our class and for some reason thought he'd make a target of me.

Part of it was also due to him being maybe one of 15 black kids in our entire school, and I have no doubt he was a target of some of the kids. As for me, I rarely talked to him, not out of disliking him though. To be honest i don't remember why I didn't).

Anyway, he targeted me but I didn't respond, mostly because it's not in my nature to be aggressive, but I also out weighed him by about 50 pounds and was a good 6-9 inches taller than him and knew that if I had retaliated, he would've in a world of hurt.

It wasn't until a few years later when his home life got better (iirc, his parents separated and his mom re-married a much nicer guy) that he changed his personality. I didn't see him from 7th grade until soph year in college, and it was like he was a completely different guy. Much calmer, apologetic and was able to like himself finally.

I know that sounds like a feel good story made for Lifetime or something, but it's actually what happened.

If he had done what those idiots did, without people knowing the whole story, I'm sure he would've been accused of being something he wasn't. He was an ass hole though. But now as an adult, he's not. I'm hoping that's what it was with these idiots. Call me naive, but I'm betting it was probably more to do with bullying/insecurity/targeting of a victim than anything else.
