Nobody in Oregon has ever had to drive out of state before to buy it, so I doubt that they'll start now. Street price for an ounce of bud is $150-$250, depending on who you know, so the $15 gram price, plus 25% tax, plus city tax, is not realistic in any long-term sense.
I'll grow my plants at home now...It's never been a big deal to me to have it or not but I like the choice
People that consume extracts want to smoke extracts not "ounces of bud". Flower and extract are two totally different things. Your average plant is going to range anywhere from ~12-28% THC, your extracts are going to start out at ~50% ranging all the way up to the high 80s. I was never a dabber, but it is my understanding that if you frequently smoke extract you don't even want to waste your money on flower as it won't do much for you because of your tolerance.
thanks, she is very indica, short and stout but I started late or she would be much bigger. White Urkle is her strain so hopefully I will get some purples as soon as we get some chilly nights. Ive grown her indoor and no purple but the nugs are some of the frostiest white you've ever seen, and extremely dense. One of my all time favorites.
I can buy ounces cheap from acquaintances but I smoke very little and it just gets dried out. Also, variety is nice . So for me, going to the store and picking up one gram at a time is perfect. And I spend more per high on wine which I buy frequently, so $15 a gram sounds very reasonable for me.
store it in a mason jar to keep it fresh. If it dries out still then put a small leaf or piece of bread in with it over night and it will squish back up.
I can go over to my neighbor fucktwat the clown to buy some right now, the county just doesn't like the idea of making any tax money off of it on stores because they're tea party idiots.
Gotta agree. The legislature (because they are so much smarter) took a well written measure and fucked it all up. And before too long they're going to find out they actually boosted the popularity of the black market because "store bought" weed is going to be too expensive for those of us who either get the stuff free, or pay a fair amount less than the prices being projected. It's going to take a year or two before the glitches are all worked out, but anything over $150-$200 an ounce isn't going to fly (no pun intended) very long. I read awhile back that some pundits are expecting the price to eventually settle in at around $140/oz. And somehow I can't help but believe that down the road, now that it's legal to grow, weed at the end of summer will be like zucchini. Everyone will be giving it away.....one can hope....
He's talking about growing, not public usage. Enough people growing in a concentrated area and the whole entire block will be smelling like peppy Le pew.
I'm talking about the odor of hundreds, if not thousands of backyard crops like donkiez's reaching maturity.....
The Oregon target is $150 - $200 an ounce specifically to undercut the black market. Oregon has the best tax system out of any of the legal states, which is only $35 an ounce one time tax. The cities and counties are trying to fuck this up with their own greedy taxes though, and thats where the courts are right now. It will take a few years to balance out but our tax system is much better than WA or CO. You also have to consider that store bought weed does not target the average stoner, who probably has better connections or grows his own, it targets the occasional Further type smoker.
mine is so stinky now that I almost had to change clothes after just taking that picture, Im kind of worried a neighbor kid will rip it off. My buddy has a couple approaching 10 feet in his backyard and his neighborhood smells great!
Fortunately, I currently get my weed the same way I get my wine......mostly free. And Tom Peterson was correct. Free is a very good price. But I sure do like that I now have more options. I'd just like those options to be (and stay) reasonably priced.
