Our association (in the first 4 years) requires a once a week class. However, on the job training is the only way to get better. Get the fuck out there and do it over and over and learn how to blow the whistle. We take a test every year. To become playoff eligible, a referee must get 90% or above on the test.
I disagree completely. Every sport will always have human referees IMO. I don't see that changing. Replay however, will be used much more.
@riverman This is the Bavetta call I was talking about. I have previous post about it in a flopping thread. I'm sure someone can dig up that thread. I just don't have time at work.
Fastest flopper in the west! Griffin is just slow at the draw...my favorite basketball play, pulling the chair..Sheed was great at that
We need a message board party with food provided by the Blazers. We can call it "Cheetos and Mountain Dew Night at a venue that is NOT Your Mom's Basement"
We need to amp up pregame discussion with more in-depth analyses of our opponets, how we match up agianst them and such.
We should have a new picture every game where everyone here writers there own caption. Then the best out of them are voted on.
What would be interesting would be if someone (not me) summarized a game thread with interesting quotes and observations from the game.
Ask yourself this: Was the push marginal contact? Did he push to and through the defender? If the answer to either of these questions is no and you it is easy to determine if the player embellishes contact.
