The more I watch of the Blacklist the more repetitive a lot of the dialogue becomes. It seems like every episode James Spader has a line where he describes a time in his life when he was at a really random location doing something extremely random with a random group of people. Something like - I remember the time I was spear fishing with some pygmy indians in the Andaman Islands. Beautiful place, great fishing, but the boats rocked and swayed so fiercely...The point is. I can see it coming at this point, and now its good for a laugh or 2.
Happy Valley is terrific. They just started filming the second season and it's expected to air next spring woohoo! The lead actress in that series is a tough broad. Les Revenants is another current favorite of mine (the original French series, not the copycat American ones). Season 2 has already started in Europe and should be airing on Sundance in the US in late October. Season 1 is available on Netflix.
Favorite Shows of All Time. 1. Cheers 2. Rockford Files 3. The Young Ones 4. Married With Children 5. Monty Python/Dr. Who Recent shows I've shows liked: Archer, The Newsroom, House of Cards (liked the original much better) 24
Never really got addicted to Frazier that much. He's one of the great characters in television history but his development wasn't the same as it was in Cheers. Put a social climbing Harvard grad like Frazier amongst characters like Cliff and Norm and you've got instant ACTION. Put him in Seattle in a safe radio job with a wimpy foil/brother and I lose interest. I like Situational Comedies: four anarchist student in 80's Thatcher England, frustrated former high school jock stuck in a shoe store.... that's me.
Almost done with The Office. 4 episodes into season 9. Ed Helms isn't ruining it as much in the final season so that's good. It will be one of my favorite shows ever unless it ends in some bizarre fashion.
I've been meaning to watch that for a long time, I'll probably make it my next show now that you've reminded me about it!
I enjoyed the Killing as well, and if you liked that - look for Five Days - it is an old joint BBC/HBO mini-series. I believe you can stream it on Amazon. It seems to me that the Killing was inspired quite a bit by this series. http:// www.amazon.com /Day-1/dp/B00TZ9I81U Had to put some spaces - otherwise the board software tries to embed it, which will not work.
I stopped watching it after about 5 episodes when it aired last year, but decided to give it another try recently and I'm glad I did. In my opinion it picks up around episode 7 or 8 and has been fantastic since then. Funniest show on network TV.
Anyone in here watching any of the new network shows? Blind Spot, Code Black, Rosewood, Limitless, Minority Report, Oil and Blood?
It was great, loved that show almost entirely from start to finish. I hated Ed Helms 90 percent of the time, but he didn't ruin it.
Anyone else watch the Sense8 Christmas Special? Such a well done show. Incredible writing, the filming is gorgeous, and the editing artfully unique in a way that enhances the story telling like no other show. Such an original take on a fairly standard scifi plot line. Season 1 and the X-mas special 10/10! Can't wait for season 2.
