OK if the Blazers decide to keep Pressey and Fraizer then Alexander is gone. This could happen if they can't decide between the two...most likely though they will not keep them both. Fraizer stays because: His Familiarity - Stotts likes him, Lillard likes him, the Blazers are comfortable with him He is the better playmaker- While Pressey has shown the potential to become a playmaker, Fraizer his ahead of him there He is the better offensive player - Fraizer can outshoot Pressey any night, anytime His summer league play - while he did have problems with turnovers his play was pretty solid. Pressey doesn't make the team because: He is not reliable - While undisputedly an athletic player he struggles both offensively ( he is a poor shooter, and like Fraizer he has issues with turnovers) and defensively ( his size hurts his teams ability to rebound and allows taller pgs to shoot over him) It comes down to a lack of confidence vs a lack of skill. Fraizers confidence issuses can be fixed with more playing experience...Pressey's lack of skill...well you get it
id take frazier on height alone. either pressey or frazier will be hardly used anyway and both arent really NBA talents at this point, may as well try to develop the taller one.
Why would you say that Alexander's gone if you do happen to keep a 4th string PG? I mean, of Connaughton, Montero, Alexander...One has a pedigree, has shown some NBA skills, and isn't the 5th stringer at his position...
Yeah... And you got to see a lifetime the greatest musical acts that most people would kill for. I'd make a trade with you any day!
Connaughton's contract is guaranteed and I don't see us letting Montero go...I think its more likely we will see Pressey go and Alexander stay, but who really knows
Let me be clear and decisive. A better team would cut by experience, i.e. 22-year-old high schooler Montero, or in 2nd place, Alexander. Since Olshey is a Donald Sterling robot, he'll cut by talent, either Pressey or Frazier.
Dame / Pressey Hendo / CJ / Montero / Pat Rouq / Crabbe / Harkless Nards / Vonleh / Alexander Plums / Davis / Kaman
That's right except it seems you accidentally wrote Pressey's name next to dames instead of Fraizer's
Until you felt the aches and pains and realized that you can't see anything close up... I was at this concert - best one I ever saw. But I'd give it up to be 10 years younger without thinking twice.
I expect Frazier to be cut. If somehow he makes the squad Pressey will be cut. Neither one will be in the regular rotation and neither can play SG so theres an argument we could even cut both if we had to make two cuts. If Alexander or Montero play so poorly the coaching staff feels its not worth wasting a roster spot on them thats about the only way I can see both Pressey and Frazier making it. Or if some Blazer on the final year of his deal such as Kaman, Hendo, Harkless, Crabbe have a season ending injury.
I can't see the team cutting Alexander in favor of either pressey or Frazier. One of those two won't make it IMO. My guess is Pressey beats out Frazier.
The order of probability of getting cut: 1. Pressey (PG who can't shoot, smoothie) 2. Frazier (PG who can't shoot, scrapper) 3. Montero (22-year old high schooler, no college) 4. Alexander (as dumb as Thomas Robinson but shorter with 1/3 the college years) 5. Connaughton (#4 without guaranteed contract, unable to jump, shoot, or smile) 6. Heartless Harkless (would be #5, but has guaranteed contract)
I've seen him play & he's a better player vs. his stats. He's a guy that w/ steady playing time/role, his stats will catch up to his play (MUCH better vs. a player w/ bloated stats that doesn't do crap!). He's still young (24) & it looks like he will improve; Tim though, it doesn't look to me like he'll really get better.
We need that extra big so Cliff Alexander will make the team. I think Pressey will not make the team. But, I am sure he will find another team soon after.
Danny Ainge had really great things to say about Pressy..I watched his play and some cuts of him..the dude is a physical freak for a small guy. Better ballhandler and passer than Frazier from what I saw but a gym rat like Wes was..he has the x factor Frazier doesn't really show me..both guys are fast. neither is a good defender
I had to like this post for #4. for dumb as TRob etc...and the Conaughton can't smile gets me everytime!
