    The issue in murder is the intent more than the means...whether a bomb or poison or bullet...why do young people murder at all and especially in places like movie theaters, churches, schools or shopping malls. Why can someone have enough ammo to kill that many people? In this case...no ammo, guns are usless..

    Airbags don't stop all vehicle accident deaths, therefor airbags don't work and car makers shouldn't be required to have them.

    Yes, gun laws won't stop all crimes. That is 100% true. But if we can stop some of them? If we can make the crimes that do happen easier to solve and easier to hold people responsible who facilitated or allowed them to happen?

    You said you've never seen a plan, I just showed you one. You may not agree with it but it's a starting point, a place to have legitimate discussions from.

    If the whole point of the 2nd amendment is to prevent a tyrannical government from controlling the populace, I can tell you that registering all the guns would be completely counter to that thought. Registering the guns is the first step towards public disarmament.

    It's at least a start. Unfortunately, the gun lobby and knee jerk gun owners (who will remain anonymous) will insure this either never happens or is so watered down as to be completely useless.
