    No, I don't play soccer!

Finished the weight loss. 51 lbs. Down to 125, my college weight - and for the record I am now 61. Started college at 16.

I'm actually leaner than I was back then; I had no car and went everywhere on foot schlepping my books in a backpack but I did not work out. I've worked with a trainer and hit the gym hard the past year so added a lot of muscle.

At work they rented a BMI machine for 6 months starting last Friday so we can "track our progress". It told me I have too little body fat. That amused me all afternoon.

Big problem: nothing fits except my socks (still have big feet, that is bone structure and won't change). I mean, nothing, from coats to underwear! I am a size 6 woman in size 12 clothes, my jeans have safety pins and binder clips in the waistband so they won't fall off. My Oakland A's and Portland Trail Blazers gear look like tents. My shirts are sacks. If I had a girlfriend we could both fit into my Pride T-shirts at the same time. My sweaters, all hand knitted, all one of a kind, would fit me perfectly - if I was 9 months pregnant. I put on a skirt to wear to the ballet, and by the time I walked from my bedroom to living room the skirt had landed on my shoe tops.

Last weekend I tried on everything I own and 3/4 of it is now in boxes for Goodwill. Hard to give up my hand made sweaters, I so carefully selected yarn and patterns and they take weeks to knit, but they are huge. A few years back I gave away a bunch of clothes, including sweaters, that were too tight or looked hideous since I had put on so much weight. Sigh. Next Friday I am taking the day off and my sister & I are going out to replace my wardrobe. I did buy new bras after a couple of embarrassing near-accidents at the gym (is that TMI? Probably) Also need to get my hands busy and start knitting.

I've been asked what is the secret. There is none. I ate vegetables by the pound, cut sweets to one small serving a week, and hit the gym for an hour a day when I absolutely did not feel like it.

I hesitated to post this when your state is in mourning over this horrific shooting, once more. My deepest sympathy to those who lost loved once and best wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.

    That's awesome!

I've been dieting too, as of today I've lost 27lbs in the last 5 weeks. It was fun last weekend going shopping for new clothes.

That's awesome, congrats! Do you by chance partake in any alcohol (or did you cut that out too)?

That's terrific, crandc! It's not easy to stick with the diet and exercise program that long. Great dedication should pay off with long term health benefits, not to mention just feeling better in your own skin. Congrats.

Damn! Now it's time for me to get with the program. Again. Sigh.

New clothes shopping seems like a fun problem to have. Congratulations on sticking with it!

And I'll chip in $5 to get you a new-you-sized Mariners jersey. Cano, Cruz or the King? ;)

Atkins. 20 carbs a day. 5 small meals. Low calories. More exercise.

In reply - I don't have before pics and don't own a bikini. No luck.

Not much of an alcohol drinker. In fact I realized it was more convivial than taste. I'd go to lunch before ballet with my friend and we'd have a toast. After I realized that I honestly was not that crazy about the taste of alcohol, I got a non-alcoholic drink. Still imbibe occasionally but not much.

If anyone really wants a sweater, and lives in the Bay Area, PM me.

I'm an A's fan. Don't send a Giants or Mariners jersey! But I'll take a Lillard, for sure.

Temptation to go get a hot fudge sundae. I won't. But maybe one Haagen-Daz bar.

    Thanks for nice comments.
