You keep using this statistic. Maybe women should stop marrying abusive assholes? Just a thought.

Who said anything about Bush or Obama? I am asking you if you would be open to give the same privileges to guns as we would to cars?

I don't think he understands the stuff he's spouting off about. At least not fully. He's got what they call, tunnel vision sir.

You nor I have a right to a car. We do not have a right to drive a car.
The Constitution of the United States gives us the right to bear arms (including guns). It does not give us any rights at all about cars. As per the 10th amendment, regulation of cars is left to the states. Do you understand? If you do, then purpose and amendment that would be logical enough to gain support. This is the accepted procedure, whining is not recognized.
Actually the right to bear arms came from the creator, and was first written in the Law of Nations. Thankfully the founders knew this and restated the Right in the Constitution.

I would be willing to listen to a logical Constitutional amendment, I even put forward a possible adjustment that actually would have stopped the most resent shooters, but no one considered it. That does make me think that the whole agenda is simply to ignore the Constitution's 2nd amendment and eliminate guns. This is not going to happen without war.

I think most of these people want to eliminate guns, but they're afraid to come out and say it. They throw out terms like "gun control" because they don't have the guts to come right out and say what they really want.

They don't throw that term out. That's neurolistic programming from Frank Luntz. It's called Gun Safety.

    Study by Johns Hopkins:

"Family and intimate assaults with firearms are 12 times more likely to result in death than nonfirearm assaults. This research suggests that limiting access to guns will result in less lethal family and intimate assaults"

If their husband is abusive, have him arrested and leave him. Period.

If they stay in an abusive relationship, and they refuse to do anything about the abuse, then what are we supposed to do/say about it?

Do you have a logical amendment to the Constitution to put forward?

He wants insurance on all firearms and some kind of psychological check on anyone who wants to buy one. I have no idea how that's going to work.

Both sound like infringements, So an amendment would be required.

I guess nothing. If he beats her up, kills her, it was her fault because she didn't do anything about it? Just so you know there have been people that have done something about it (i.e. left him, asked for restraining orders, and the like) and are still brutally killed.

And I'm not talking about them, but if his stance is that a woman in an abusive relationship is 12x more likely to be killed with a gun in the home, I'd say the first step is to leave the abusive asshole.

We had no idea how we'd land on the moon but we did. Gun safety laws are needed.

    @MARIS61

Regardless of what you think or believe, your 2nd amendment right CAN be regulated.
