I didn't get to watch or listen to the game tonight, but looking at the box score, it looks like CJ had a great game, and Pressy sucked.

What happened to Ed Davis, Mr 60% FG shooter, 1-7?

He might come off the bench, but he'll still get about 30 minutes a game I'd say.

No Bogut didn't do anything in the post last year. The Dubs have the best perimeter player in the NBA in Curry. Thompson isn't close to that level; he's below Dame offensively. Great defender but his offense isn't diverse and McCollum has a chance to match him on that end of the court. Klay can lock down either guard spot and good enough shooter you can't leave him open. He's similar to Wes his two way play makes him so valuable. He can't run an offense without Curry.

We will definitely miss much of what LMA brought but if we had some random mediocre post presence this year I don't think it helps our team.

Well duh but I'm very skeptical anyone is giving us a good second rounder for Kaman or Hendo. If so we trade them if not they stay on the team. You can forget a first rounder; zero chance of that.

To get any trade value for Hendo he has to be back healthy and productively playing first.

Lesson of the evening: CJ can drop 30, and 19 in a quarter.

Also, the little USB dongle I bought to record FM transmissions on my laptop works like a charm.

    This is good news.

I love their TV announcer; he makes Pat Lafferty sound like Macho Man Randy Savage.

I really enjoy watching CJ play. Same reason I like Dame and Roy before that. I just love players who can stop on a dime, pull up and hit the soft pull up J. You would think he would have trouble getting the shot off because of his height, but he is very crafty.

    Pat crashes the boards hard.

He can also pass. Skillset I see Wesley Matthews without the post scoring.

Our offense was terrible at the start of the game; missed shots and bonehead turnovers. Those things happen, but I wondered if the team was starting to panic some and do too much when the first few shots didn't fall. For those of you who missed the game we literally had something like 3 points half way through the first, just lucky Sac was cold too.

CJ - Great game, I feel fine with his as our full time backup PG. I didn't think the teams slow start had anything to do with him at PG; he always brought the ball up fine and passed it to start the offense. In real games we'll have Dame set the tone so we only need CJ to spend those ~10mpg there. I like the idea of him on the court with a pair of tall wings who can defend, slash, and shoot. If I had to nitpick I'd say there was a three that was too deep and another time he could've passed to teammates early in the shot clock instead of taking his own shot.

Meyers - Excellent jump shooting as always but his post moves are terrible. He can dribble and drive more than you expect but not sure what the point is as he gets out of control and can't score. When teams start sticking a defender on him I question what else he can provide. His shooting and pick and pop are so deadly though that might be enough.

Plumlee - Has good handles and passing but needs to get a bit more under control and not jump in the air before he knows who to pass to. If we aren't fast breaking he losses a lot of value. If we are fast breaking he's a game changer. I'm not sure about his rim protection.

Ed Davis - Missed a lot of shots he normally makes. He is probably the best big man defensively, not that he's elite. I wonder if Plumlee would be better running fast breaks with the second unit and Ed defending the middle with the first. We did play the pair of Davis and Plumlee which worked fine and might be something to try for brief stretches against second units.

Vonleh - Great physical tools but was rushed on his shots near the rim. Needs some patience and use his body to clear space or get the foul.

Aminu - Impressive defender. Made some three's and a drive but he's not the first option you want shooting. He took 6 threes. I guess you don't want him to be passive but we have better offensive options. I'd like to see him at PF but we have 4 bigs I want to see play too.

Pat - Great rebounding and more confident with his offense. Was able to dribble the ball in sets.

Pressey - Terrible, over dribbled, tried to shoot to much, bad passes; he probably gets a chance in one more game but his odds of surviving the cut aren't good.
Montero - Came in at the end and had bad defense, two dumb turnovers, provided nothing.
Omari - Even worse just cut all three of these guys.

Meyers has value in that you can't double off of him when he's out at the 3 point line. When he's picking for Dame or CJ, that's a huge win for the play. His picks are way more valuable than the exact same pick set by LaMarcus last year.

Al-Farouq with 10 turnovers in two games playing at less than starter minutes! A slight worry at this point.

Montero is RAW. Pressey isn't considered RAW.

Pressey had 3 years of NCAA level basketball under his belt, and shot shitty back then too. I don't think he's all the sudden going to show great improvement. The Blazers already have an undersized 3rd string PG (Fraizer), I don't see any reason to keep two. And I don't see any reason to keep him over a player that they KNOW is RAW and wasn't going to make much of an impact this year or even next.

Missed the second half but looks like CJ went into ISO mode...I think Meyers had 1 rebound ..having 3 guys scoring 12, 13 and 30 is pretty sad. I thought PC looked like a basketball player in the first half. Aminu is just getting his feet wet with this team, so I give him a break

The overall results, especially since Dame did not play, where impressive. There were a lot of unselfish players buying into a team concept. The more unselfish games this roster plays; the better the execution will develop and improve as the season progresses.

It appears we could have a very good fast break team.

Need to see more driving paint penetration that results in drawing fouls.

Not sure Stott’s system needs a pure BUPG, the assists where distributed throughout the roster, again unselfish play.

Lots of greasy fingers and lose balls. Have the trainer buy a case of the sticky spray the football players use. (Is that legal in the NBA?)

Good effort, even on D, no nose pickers on our roster.

I am going to raise my win projection to 24 for the season.

I'm just glad it's only preseason..nobody has blown us out yet and we beat the champs with their best players on the court. Last night we missed Dame
