I've been biting my tongue for awhile but......linking Meyers and a slimy, little manure maggot like Justin Bieber is just plain wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
I've shook Meyers hand down in the Gym at U of I. This was right after his rookie season. Seemed like kind of a douche, but presumably he's grown up a bit since then.
He really has. I was watching him from afar, and he seems to really hold himself better. (I know that's gonna get some chuckles)
The problem with Meyers is hes pretty limited offensively to only being a spot up shooter. But hes damn good at shooting is what makes him intriguing. He has no one on one moves what so ever. You cant give him the ball in the post for example but if hes open from anywhere in the court and he sets his feet, hes damn near automatic. But if you lock him up by being honest with him defensively hes useless. He needs to to develop some one on one, go to moves for him to take that next huge step other than that hes a spencer hawes before he fell off or an athletic version of matt boner..
Except that he also has excellent passing ability, so even if he doesn't have a shot, he's still dangerous. Also, if you watch the games and understand the flow offense, you would know that the offensive sets are designed in such a way as to get him open looks, even when a defender is "honest with him".
He's only 23 too, younger than CJ. Give him some time. Would also like to see some offense run through him on the high post ala Andrew Bogut, in order to make use of his excellent passing abilities.
Meyers will score more (I hope), and hopefully rebound more, but block far fewer shots. Early in his career, before injuries, LaFrentz was one of the top 2 or 3 shot blockers in the entire NBA. BNM
That's actually really nice to hear. It's such a horrible nickname.. Makes me cringe every time someone uses it.
When he was at the hillsboro hops game, I yelled it to him. He had security escort me out. (This is not a true story)
