Blah, blah, blah. More political obfuscation. Like anyone realistically expects the turnaround to occur overnight. Or even in a year. As some old Asian dude once said, a journey of a thousand miles begins with but a single step. Mags, you just throw bullshit against the wall to see what sticks. This one just bounced off....
Not quite sure what you mean. 3.7 trillion only taxing the rich and liquidating all major assets will not pay for the budget of 3.7 trillion. Bernie is already at 4-5 trillion, so I'm curious where he would find the money to pay for his bloated policies? Do you?
The same place Cheney and Bush found the money to pay for two pointless wars? Out of thin air.......?
That was 2 trillion dollars over a period of 6 years. Bernie's policy for just healthcare alone is 15-22 trillion, depending on who you ask, over the next 10 years. One year of his plan covered the cost of that war you claim.
Let's put the ideology aside for a quick minute and be real. If Bernie does end up winning, do you really (really?) think he's going to get that kind of deal through a Republican controlled Congress?? Yeah, me neither. He's trolling for votes so he says what at least some folks want to hear, just like any candidate. I doubt even he believes he can get it done. Your fear of these huge expenditures (at least in that particular direction) is almost as ridiculous as your fear of gun confiscation. It ain't gonna happen in our lifetime, if ever ....but it makes for great political theater. And discussions like this.....
As a brief reminder for those who forgot or for many that didn't know Here is what happened, quietly, on January 1, 2015: Medicare tax went from 1.45% to 2.35% Top Income tax bracket went from 35% to 39.6% Top Income payroll tax went from 37.4% to 52.2% Capital Gains tax went from 15% to 28% Dividend tax went from 15% to 39.6% Estate tax went from 0% to 55% A 3.5% Real Estate transaction tax was added. Remember this fact: These taxes were all passed solely with Democrat votes. Not a single Republican voted for these new taxes. These taxes were all passed in the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare.
MAGS, I don't think you understand how a credit cards works. You swipe it to pay for whatever you want and you never have to pay it back!
Not all of it! http://www.shrm.org/hrdisciplines/compensation/articles/pages/fica-social-security-tax-2015.aspx
It's extremely odd that people can justify deficit spending when they know damn well it doesn't work in their business or personal life. They think that somehow magically the money will come out of thin air, while they punish those that are actually bringing wealth in the country.
Somebody needs to tell Bernie that, according to Forbes, the total number of billionaires in the US is only 536.
Because they're who he keeps talking about paying for all of the free stuff he wants government to provide.
