He did...he left a lot of money on the table to leave Portland..I believe it was 23 mill and an extra year
so in 3 years a washed up lamarsha and deandre will be begging to join the 3time NBA champion blazers?
On a serious note: I won't be surprised to see Aldridge hoisting that championship trophy when it's all said and done.
The season hasn't even started and LaMarsha is already making excuses....and throwing the other newbies under the bus in case the season isn't successful. And to think he was once "ours"......too bad it took us 9 years to figure it out.
The only time that'll happen is if he has some dip in there for his fritos, and he's going: "THIS IS THE BEST DIP IN THE WORLD!!!!"
LASuckStick Allbitch: "Y'know this is a rebuilding year for the Spurs and y'know we are trying to get that high draft pick ans start things off right, y'know? So, don't expect too much from us too soon, y'know?"
No doubt. SA has 5 trophies for Allbitch to choose from in their trophy case. I imagine they let him hoist one as part of their recruiting pitch. But that's the ONLY way he'll ever hoist one....
I will say one thing to LMA's defense. He evolved with this team into a 3rd piece to the puzzle, the third option..behind Broy and Oden. He was never first option caliber here and I doubt he ever will be anywhere else. This is the reason we weren't going to win with him at the helm. The first five years he was here it could have been something truly special if the injury bug didn't plant home base in the city of roses. Us as fans and Blazer management, screwed up when we propelled him into the first option guy. He wasn't mentally or physically ready for it. He work on his body and got bigger ( not speaking of this off season), but mentally he never gained that leadership, toughness, Type A personality, it really takes to be a leader of a team. I do believe he gave it his all and truly tried for the Blazers, but his inconsistency and lack of generating an inside game, is directly related to his lack of mental toughness. Just think what his type of game would be like alongside Broy and Oden injury free and all stars though? No one would be able to touch him from out there. Period. He would have been the best third option and possibly part of the best three ever. What ifs, woulda, coulda, shoulda. No personal resentment towards LMa... With that said, I just think he is weak...
I still disagree. Yes, you're right that he never should have been a #1 option. But even as a #3 option he's severely lacking because (1) he doesn't play team defense, (2) he sets crap picks, and (3) his jumper isn't that good. He would never be able to play the role that KG played for the Celtics, or that Bosh played for the Heat. The #3 guy (and PFs in general) needs to do all the little things that make the game easier for their teammates, and LMA has never been good at doing those things.
Mann prior to July 1st everybody was sweating balls that LMA wouldn't leave, me included. Now all the sudden he's this and that, he will never be this and he will never do that. My goodness I hate the guy with a passion as well but all this negativity is so funny to hear other than Sinobas and maybe a few others nobody where was all this about LMA? lol Let it go, LMA is going to be perfect for the Spurs. Pops makes scrubs look elite imagine what hell do with "fat boy LMA" lol I get the hurt he did us but man all this is so funny to hear
Yes and no. He now can enter free agency a year earlier for his next big contract and earn more money than he would've got here. Although if he keeps eating like Oliver Miller will he still be a max player?
Hahaha love that he's making excuses. Meanwhile, Dame had the whole team working out together in San Diego a month early and we'll be able to fly out of the gate on fire.
A couple of comments from the spurs board from tonight's game, where he shot 4-14. Some are starting to get it, but I think most of them are still delusional because the got the "big name" free agent. Does ALdridge even know any other play besides terrible post ups.? Aldridge already counting the number of shots his taking. SMDH... "I got 14 shots tonight"..Who says that? it's hard enough to stay in the game and keep track of the number of shots he takes... Dude won't be in SA for long.
More from the Spurs board: So I wont pretend to know much about LMA but I thought he was supposed to be great on offense. What seems to be the issues here? Is he a slow learner? Is he nervous? or is he kevin love 2.0 where he can flourish when he's one of the only options on offence. I'm not going all season over and stuff but he seems to not be fitting, obviously its only preseason but this is not what I expected to see from someone who is supposed to be so good on O. He's fat, slow, and a bad shooter. TBH.
