It's gonna be a real challenge getting CJ/Hark/Crabbe/Aminu legit minutes.

    Perhaps something like this:

    Dame (36)/ CJ (12)
    CJ (24)/Crabbe (24)
    Aminu (24)/Hark (24)
    Leonard (24)/ Vonleh (24)
    Plums (20)/ Davis (24)/ Leonard (4)

Henderson throws a wrench into the rotation. Would totally support moving him and Kaman for picks.

@yuyuza1 it's a long season. I view Hendo like the Andre Miller of shooting guards. Not a world beater but a steady piece to have around that can get buckets when nobody else can.

This. Even though they got together earlier than most teams this off season, It still doesn't seem like a team that came together this summer. They seem pretty tight already, like been playing together for a year or two.

Dammit Sly!!! No likes for you!!! ;)

The fact that we Orlando gave us Harkless for a steam sandwich.

I'm guessing something like 7th overall, but there's always hope.

Speaking of hope. It's amazing to me that so many people are so starry-eyed about the supposed strength and depth of this team. I barely see anybody factoring in the difference between scouted looks in the regular season versus un-scouted looks in pre-season play. Nobody in preseason is really playing to win (especially not the elite clubs); all these teams really want to do is roll the ball out there and see guys get generate bit of cohesion, get in basketball shape, iron out the bottom of their roster and hope nobody gets hurt.

This would hold more validity if we just got done playing teams like the clippers, SA, OKC, etc, but we haven't. We have played Utah, GS and SAc.
GS is the only team that fits your criteria and they played all of their starters. I watched the whole game. they did not take it easy and put as much effort into it as a regular season game. Until subs came in earlier than a regular season game, but we did the same thing.

Utah and Sac are basically in the same boat as us, and for the most part we have played better than those two teams so far.

With that said, Stotts also isn't REALLY trying to win, he is trying to test guys and figure his rotation, so WE also fall in to the criteria you say other teams are doing... so that evens the playing field for a fairly accurate assessment, does it not?

I don't think Aminu plays less than 30 minutes, unless Harkless proves that he's simply a better player, which is possible.

We have a serious logjam of young talent right now, and most of these guys need minutes to improve and show us what they're worth. It's going to be a fun season, but also a tricky one for Terry Stotts.

But that's my whole point. There is almost nothing to take away (positive or negative) from team performance in the pre-season. You can't use it as a measuring stick for wins and lossess in the regular season, and by extension you can't really use it as a tool to say whether or not a guy is going to have a good (or bad) season.

Why not? If we are trying to figure our lineup out and aren't "Going all out" for the win, but we are still winning and playing competitive, how is that not a good sign that these players can and probably will be better than most are predicting? Better is relative. I'm not saying playoffs, but better than predicted? Hell yes I can see that already in the play I have watched.

And hell yeah that is encouraging.

No idea why, but I did this in the Hank Schrader voice in the scene where he's like "HELL yeah, Hell yeah" And starts a chant in the office.

I am a nerd. (From Gale Boettcher on Breaking Bad too.... wtf is wrong with me)

We really won't know what we're seeing develop here until 20 games into the regular season but you can see things to feel encouraged by ..it's all new this season. We haven't even seen Gerald Henderson and Aminu play together yet..that's a different team. Crabbe has been my MIP so far. CJ is showing he's for real too.

You're wrong. Forget the opponent. The team has chemistry and they play for each other. That won't go out the window in the regular season. Also, in the GS game, Curry had 30 points, they played their main guys, and tried to win. We DESTROYED them.

Also, MJ's Bulls teams usually went 8-0 in preseason and that awful 2012-2013 Lakers team with Dwight Howard went winless in the preseason and it continued into the regular season.

I agree to an extent. If a star or rotation vet plays uncharacteristically poorly, then we usually chalk it up to the fact that it's preseason. That's fine. Vets usually don't give a shit about preseason, especially if they're already in shape and antsy for the season.

But when was a the last time a former scrub broke out and played very well in preseason, and that player did not carry over to the regular season? I can't remember any borderline rotation youngin balling out in preseason, then sucking again in the regular season.

To predict that Crabbe will be a solid rotation player/starter this year is not a stretch. Same goes for Harkless.
