After meeting so many people this last weekend ( Im terrible with names), I started wondering about everyones Monikers and what they mean to each person. I thought maybe everyone can give a bit of insite as to why their Moniker is what it is.

Sly, are you really a good poker player>
    Sedated Fork????????

    See what I'm sayin?

So for me, I have always liked the star constellation Orion and one night back in CO about 18 years ago, a buddy and I had a bottle of baileys open playing guitars under the stars and the name just came to be and has been my musical name ever since. Orion Bailey.

    Now.. Your turn!!!

    1. Because when I joined this forum I randomly picked the name of some anonymous member to piss off by stealing his moniker and adding "Daddy" to it.....

    Or........

    2. Back in the day on the playgrounds, I schooled Cliff Robinson and made him my bitch....

    Or.....

    3. I have a son named Cliff......

    Personally I'm goin with #2.....

My moniker began as a troll account elsewhere on the internet. There was someone named Hyperspoon, so I made a troll account Sedatedfork. Then I kind of liked it and kept it.

Riverman was given to me by friends who knew I liked hiking fresh water rivers whenever I got the chance..I wrote a song about a riverman when the cement company in Taiwan destroyed my favorite river spot in the mountains and I used that as the inspiration for my moniker..my son has great memories of growing up and going on these hikes with me

I used to travel all over the PNW buying cars for a large local car dealership. I had played poker in college and always enjoyed it so I started playing when I was on the road right when Texas Holdem started to explode in popularity. Lots of people were playing online and thought they were great players. They would show up for a tournament, get knocked out very quickly and then move over to the cash game tables. They would sit down with something to prove but no real experience with playing poker in person and I would be waiting for them. Man I killed some fools.

Around that same time I started posting on Oregonlive's Blazer forum. Signed up as PokerDog, soon got banned. Signed up again as PokerDawg, banned. PokerrrDog, PokerrrDog, BigPokerDog, BigPokerDawg, so many combinations and variations of dog and poker. Finally thought of SlyPokerDog. Around the same time I started chatting with Casey Holdahl who at the time worked at Oregonlive. So SlyPokerDog would get banned, I would email him and he would unban it. People got to know me as SlyPokerDog, it seemed to fit so it stuck and I've used it ever since.

I had a character in one of my short stories in college (1990's) named Caravan, and I've used it in various forms in my online usernames ever since.

In the old country, our family surname was "Sexual".

In a classic case of Ellis Island panic, my Great-grandfather changed our last name to "LovesKoolAid", thinking it was more American. It seems to have stood the test of time.

On Oregonlive's Blazer Forum you can flag a post for any reason. The mods of that forum are in New Jersey and moderate a bunch of different forums. People would get in arguments and all you would have to do is flag a post and write racist for the reason you flagged it and the mods would ban the person without even reading it. Also I fully admit I was an ass at times.

That's why when I became a mod here I really pushed the no personal insult rule. There are people over on Oregonlive who have these weird feuds going for over a decade. "10 years ago you called me a....." "I did that because you called me a ...."

My first name starts with J. And some of my buddies would call me Jfizzle when I was in middle school. When I originally started posting in forums, it was on an Oakland raiders forum when I was about 13. So I created the bane Jfizzleraider. Then I jumped over to fanhome right before it died and before an exodus occurred to bbb.net. then people just started knowing me by the name and it stuck.

I started posting on Blazers message boards about the time that it seemed every website was e-something or other, so I went with e_blazer. Exciting, hunh? I'd change it to something more innovative, but I ain't giving up my post count and likes. ;)

People still do that here, but differently...

"10 years ago you posted that you thought such and such player was blah blah blah"

They never let you forget about anything.
