Mine also Tom. And whenever she was with John Wayne all the better. "The quiet man" & "McClintock" are two of my favorites.

Heard her state in an interview that she was well paid for what she did and had no problem going the extra mile to get the film related jobs done. Not a prissy chick but a woman who could take it then turn and dish it out. Not really big one Red Heard but she was by far the exception to my rule on that.

    One classy actress, mothe
A beautiful talented actress, Mother, wife, and performer.....

My favorites: "How Green Was My Valley", and "Miracle on 34th Street", and "The Parent Trap." Rio Grande was pretty damn good also.....!

I'll put a strong second on "How Green Was My Valley". related well with me. My grandfather owned a mine himself, my uncles worked them. Best part of that movie was when the bully headmaster got his ass kicked in front of the class.

Mine would be "It's a wonderful life". Following by "A Christmas Carol" The 1951 version with Alistar Sim as Scrooge as opposed to the 1938 version with Reginald Owen as Scrooge.

R.I.P. Maureen O'Hara. One of the real 'beautiful' minds.

No doubt the aforementioned movies are as good as it gets, and none compare.

As far as more modern day Classic Xmas Movies:

    A Christmas Story - w/Darren McGavin & Melinda Dillon-1983

    Scrooged - w/Bill Murray - 1988

    Christmas Vacation - Natl. Lampoon's spoof, w/Chevy Chase, 1989

    Elf - w/Will Ferrell - 2003

    The Santa Clause - w/Tim Allen - 1994

Hey Matts, my wife and I do add Scrooged and Elf into our queue, just not with extended family.
