Those guys are fine players and last year's team was fine. This year's team is better.

Wes held back CJ. We are much better without Wes.

The thing about Wes is he was brought in to be Brandon's back up, but played well enough to start once BRoy got hurt.
But in my mind he is still the perfect 6th man. (Tough defender, great 3 point shooter, plays two positions, great leader etc etc)

In his mind however, he is much much more. But IMO his one real weakness (his lack of handles for a guard) keeps him from being that go to guy in crunch time. (That and his average at best passing) He is a very proud person. I wish he would have stayed and moved to the bench. But players never are happy about that until they go to the next team, and then all of a sudden it is not an issue.

I think the Clippers is where Wes should have gone. He would be perfect along side of CP3 who dominates the ball.

I think your point only really applies if you need instant gratification by winning right now...the 2nd round season was better than last season so those starters who logged more minutes than any starting five in the league..burned out or in Wes' case got badly injured...just Rolo was one of the worst examples..he disappeared for most of last season..Lamarcus didn't put up two 40pt games to get us to the second round..Batum couldn't shoot, Lillard was in a shooting slump with a gimpy hand..I realized, we weren't getting better ..in fact we were 3 games worse and one less playoff round worse..it was time for a change. I think the idea now is that we're trying to develop those future studs and in my view..that's a solid approach from the front office. Optimists aren't as flawed and blind as some may think around here. I held onto that identity until Lamarcus and Wes signed with other teams...I wanted them back...now...not so much

I think Phoenix was the best place for Wes because they have the best record at getting injured players careers back on track

They didn't have Chandler. They are a much better team with Chandler and the Dragon.

Yes. 3-2 after 5 games, 3-3 after 6. Then won 14 of the next 15.

Top that and there's little question we are better.

We may not top that because schedule is different than last year, but I'm sure we'll win more than the 51 games we won over the whole season.

Do people still really think we're only winning 20-25 games? If so, I bet you $100 we win at least 20 by the All Star break. Anyone wanna take that bet? I thought not.

I predicted 32. We still need to beat one of the teams that I thought we'd lose to.

At the All-Star break, the Blazers will only have 28 games remaining. That means they would have played 54. 20 wins at the All-Star break gives them a Lotto-like record of a measly 20-34.....no big deal. No Bet.

What CJ lacks compared to Wes is made up for by his handles and creativity.
